The popularity of online coupons from Groupon, LivingSocial, and AmazonLocal among Orlando residents has made the City Beautiful one of the hottest among the daily deal market.
Locals are buying online coupons from paddle-boat tours across metro Orlando to corn mazes near Zellwood. Canadian daily-deal site Dealfind just added Orlando to their roster of cities, while smaller sites like Drinkbin and the Orlando Sentinel’s Hot Deals Orlando have also joined the mix.
Buy Local Orlando, the city’s initiative to keep residents spending their money with merchants inside city limits, will launch an app in November — created by local app development company Echo Interaction Group — to enhance the program’s power through residents’ mobile devices.
