TALLAHASSEE – Jarred “Scooter” Haggins wishes he could pinpoint the exact moment it happened.

But he can’t. He’s tried.

“I don’t know when it happened, and I don’t know how,” the Florida State receiver said, reminiscing about his recent broken hand injury. “I even watched the film to try to see when it happened, and couldn’t establish when it happened.”

But whether he snapped apart the bone inside his pinky finger in the first or second half of FSU’s 23-13 loss to then-No. 1 Oklahoma isn’t important now. What is important is that barely three weeks after surgery to insert pins into his finger, Haggins is ready to help the Seminoles (2-3, 0-2 ACC) get back on track.

“I can’t wait,” Haggins said. “Every day I go to practice this week, it’s like my heart goes to racing like it’s the game. My first day back to practice, I literally ran onto the practice field.”

Quick hits

*FSU fans, middle linebacker Telvin Smith has a simple request for you: continue to support your team.

Despite the issues the Seminoles have had this season, the sophomore hopes to see the Doak Campbell Stadium stands full of garnet and gold when the team returns home next week when they host Maryland.

“I feel like if you’re a real true Seminole fan, you’ll pack these stands out even crazier than y’all did the Oklahoma game,” Smith said.

*Offensive linemen Andrew Datko and David Spurlock continued to miss practice time Wednesday.

*NEXT GAME: at Duke on Saturday, 3 p.m., Sun Sports.
