Hannah Hidalgo, a women’s basketball star at Notre Dame, allegedly expressed her anti-gay homophobia by sharing a video expressing that same-sex marriage is a “sin.”

Hidalgo was allegedly sharing a conversation between Don Lemon — a gay man — and Candace Owens — an anti-gay hate-monger — on her social media feed. She, of course, deleted it after she shared her anti-gay sentiment.

My husband and I have been together for 21 years. Most straight relationships don’t last that long.

Yet these hate-mongers — Owens and Hidalgo — want to belittle my legal marriage with my husband. I sent a tweet asking about her acceptance or denial of this message. She did not immediately respond.

I need a moment to collect myself….

These two awful people clearly have zero idea what love is.

There is nothing sinful about two men loving each other and having sex with each other. The belief from Owens and Hidalgo that my physical expression of love with my husband is “sinful” is based on nonsense formed over 2,000 years ago when pork and shrimp were so dangerous, they were illegal too.

Owens and Hidalgo are the worst of our society. They want gay people like me to shut up, go back in the closet and serve our our life term on their terms.

No.

Sorry, Candace Owens and Hannah Hidalgo will not stand. It won’t stand with the US Supreme Court. It won’t even stand with your presumptive nominee.

Hidalgo’s Instagram boasts that she is “saved by Jesus Christ.”
