A Message From Your Superintendent

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are looking forward to the 2024-2025 school year.  School officially begins for grades 5th, 6th, and 9th on August 15th, 2024.  Kindergarten and grades 1st - 12th will begin on August 19th, 2024.  Preschool will begin after Labor Day and more information will be forthcoming for those families.

If you have not already done so, please take the opportunity to complete online registration and then complete the registration process in person at your child’s school.  Online Registration Link. 

If you have a Infinite Campus Parent Portal account, you may also access the online registration process there.  When you visit the school to finalize your registration, you will receive information on school meal applications, chromebook check-outs for grades 7th-12th, and school activities.

SCHOOL MEAL INFORMATION

Parents who have completed the Federal schools meal application, will receive information on whether or not their family has qualified for free/reduced school breakfast and lunch meals via the mail. 

All students will receive free lunch until their applications are processed and letters are mailed. The cutoff date for existing student applications will be September 5th, 2024. Please make sure you have completed your application by this deadline.  After September 5th, 2024, those who do not qualify or have not completed an application will begin to receive statements for meals.

You will be able to pay for meals several different ways.

• Pay in cash or check at your child’s school

• Pay online via the Titan Pay Portal at www.payetteschools.org (under Programs > Food Service)

Your child will receive a school handbook the first week of school to bring home. For convenient access, these handbooks are also available on our district website. The link to each handbook is also available here.

Spanish versions of the other handbooks are being prepared and will be available in both print and online in the coming weeks as our District translator completes this process.

SCHOOL SCHEDULE

School schedules have been updated for all buildings. We have also listed our earliest drop off times for each building. This is the earliest we will have a staff member available to supervise students.

Payette Primary School: 

• 8:00 AM - 3:25 PM

McCain Middle School: 

• 5th & 6th Grade: 8:10 AM - 3:40 PM

• 7th & 8th Grade: 8:30 AM - 3:50 PM

Payette High School: 

• Zero Hour: 7:30 AM

• 8:25 AM - 4:05 PM

Payette Academy: 

• Zero Hour: 7:30 AM

• 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

BUSSING

Our goal this year is to reduce the age span of students riding each bus. As a result, we will be running a Kindergarten - 6th grade bus route and a 7th grade - 12th grade bus route.  Payette Academy students will have their own bus route.  We will need to combine routes on the very rural routes on the outlying areas of our district.

We will be sending you route information early next week via email and posting the maps online. No student will need to walk more than three blocks to their bus stop, while most will be closer.

MEET AND GREET

Payette Primary will hold its Parent Meet and Greet on August 15th, 2024 from 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM.  Students and parents are invited to come meet teachers, place classroom supplies in their desks, and become familiar with the school. Following the Meet and Greet, there will be a PTO Family Engagement Activity from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at PPS.

McCain Middle School will hold a Meet and Greet for 5th and 6th grade students and parents on August 15th, 2024 from 7:45 AM - 10:00 AM. The staff looks forward to sharing with students their new classrooms and updating them about the exciting year ahead.
