What to Watch on Disney+ in September 2024

Disney+ is set to drop a Marvel show about wicked witch Agatha Harkness, a new LEGO Star Wars adventure, and more in September.

I try to be as fair as possible in writing up the new content on each streaming service every month, but Disney+ isn't giving me a lot to work with. August was almost empty, and September is barely better. We get a new Star Wars show, but it's LEGO. We get a new Marvel show, but it requires you to have watched Wandavision and Multiverse of Madness to even understand. There's still good content on the service, but it's running low. Here's the most notable new stuff streaming on Disney+ in September.

LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy (September 13)

Gaten Matarazzo voices Sig Greebling, the "nerf herder" at the head of LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild The Galaxy. When he discovers a mysterious artifact that can re-write reality in a Jedi temple he has no business being in, it kicks off a madcap adventure where he's the only one that can set things right in the galaxy far away. Returning Star Wars actors include Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams and Ahmed Best as... "Darth Jar Jar."

Marvel Television’s "Agatha All Along" (September 18)

Kathryn Hahn's turn as Agatha Harkness was one of the many pleasures of WandaVision back in 2021, so seeing her get her own miniseries is definitely fun. Freed from her captivity in Westview, Agatha must make an uneasy alliance with a young witch to assemble a new coven and regain her powers. A fun cast including Aubrey Plaza and Sasheer Zamata makes Agatha All Along look promising, but we'll see how much other Marvel content you have to watch to get it.

Ayla & The Mirrors (September 27)

This popular series from Mexico gets an English dub on Disney+. The titular Ayla is a young woman who has her comfortable life upended when her wealthy father dies. She's sent to live at a shelter for orphans, where she meets Inés and her dance crew, The Mirrors. She also discovers in the depths of her trauma that she has developed the supernatural ability to feel other people's emotions through music.
