1. How can I subscribe to The Plain Dealer?

Call (216) 999-6000.  You can also subscribe online.

2. What time should my paper arrive each morning?

Expect delivery of your newspaper by 6:00 a.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays, by 7 a.m. on Saturdays and by 8:30 a.m. on Sundays. These times apply to most counties. In outlying areas, times may vary.

3. What should I do if I didn’t receive my newspaper?

Call (216) 999-6000, select Print Edition menu and then press 3. Reports received by 9 a.m. will be dispatched to our field team for redelivery to your home. After 9 a.m., we will arrange for the missed edition to be delivered the next day or provide same-day delivery of our electronic replica edition.

4. I am moving. How do I transfer my subscription to a new address?

Call (216) 999-6000, select Print Edition menu and then press 1.

5. How do I place a temporary hold on delivery of my print newspaper?

Call (216) 999-6000, select Print Edition menu and then press 2.

6. How do I restart delivery of my print newspaper?

Call (216) 999-6000, select Print Edition menu and then press 4.

7. Can I change the frequency of receiving invoices?

You may select monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual billing. Call (216) 999-6000 to let us know the best fit for you.

8. How can I pay for my subscription electronically?

You can pay your subscription electronically by going to the customer service online menu. You also can set up automatic payments by calling (216) 999-6000, selecting the Print Edition menu and selecting option 5, or you can select the automatic payment option at the bottom of your subscription invoice.

9. Why do I mail my payment to Kentucky? Doesn’t that take longer?

Our bank’s processing center is in Louisville, Kentucky. Equipped with special scanning equipment, the center quickly and efficiently updates your account.

10. Why does your call center have a wait time?

Unfortunately, we cannot always anticipate call volume, so sometimes delays will occur. For your convenience, we also offer online service options 24 hours a day.

11. I received a newspaper on a day when I am not scheduled for delivery. Why?

Partial week subscribers can receive popular editions throughout the year. Some of these editions fall on national holidays. Others coincide with long, holiday weekends. Occasionally, we provide sample newspapers on days with special features and news. These sample newspapers provide you with a glimpse into what The Plain Dealer has to offer our subscribers. All subscriptions include the gigantic Thanksgiving Day edition charged at the then current rate of your Sunday print edition.

12. How can I get a delivery tube installed?

Call us at (216) 999-6000 and press 0 to speak with a representative. Please note that we follow city municipality guidelines for delivery in all areas. Generally speaking, if your mailbox is at the street, you qualify for a tube. If a tube can be installed in your delivery area, your request will be handled within five days, as weather permits. Tubes cannot be installed when the ground is frozen.

13. Does the Plain Dealer Publishing Co. recycle?

Yes. Customers often call us and ask where they can recycle their newspapers. There are a number of community recycling programs that earn money for local schools and churches. You can find a recycling location in Cuyahoga County. Our newspapers are printed with soy ink and use recycled paper. We promote employee recycling in our production plant as well as in our business offices.

14. Who delivers my newspaper?

Independent Delivery Contractors deliver print editions. They are a vital link between the Plain Dealer Publishing Co. and its home delivery subscribers. To find out who delivers The Plain Dealer to your home, just call us at (216) 999-6000 and press 0 to speak with a representative.

15. How can I give a tip to my Independent Delivery Contractor?

There are several ways subscribers can send a tip to their delivery contractor. You can use the remittance portion of your billing. You can add a tip using your online account. You can add a tip at any time when you make a payment by phone (216) 999-6000 and press 5. Carriers receive these tips through a weekly deposit to their account along with notification of the sender. 16. As a subscriber, do I qualify to also receive The Plain Dealer e-edition?

As part of your subscription package, you qualify to also receive access to our replica e-edition, which allows you to read anywhere or anytime on your desktop PC, laptop, iPad, iPhone, Kindle Fire, Android smartphone or Android tablet.
