My focus is Relationship Counselling.
Better relationships are life giving but figuring out how to relate can be tricky. We oscillate between feeling connected, then disconnected and we often get stuck in a cycle of misunderstanding. Want to improve your interaction and be understood? Need help to address uncertainty and clarify need? Want insight into why you're getting stuck? Need help to brainstorm options and change the way you relate? We all struggle and we all have issues that we need to address, so let's do it... 0404 480 316

We relish in what many therapists see as ‘too difficult’ - trauma, attachment wounds, adjustment issues and relationship challenges and have helped hundreds of clients work through their ‘stuff’ with empirically-based modalities such as EMDR.
I am a counsellor and body-based psychotherapist with special interests in all aspects women’s health, trauma and couples therapy. I work collaboratively with clients to find a place of healing and recovery and I'm not the kind of therapist that is ok with “feeling better” if better is still a long way off being truly well. That’s why I feel such an affinity with the word ‘wellbeing’. as it is much more than the absence of disease or illness. Wellbeing is a multidimensional mix of getting your physical, mental and social health in balance, and I have a team of Counsellors working at the practice to support you in your healing.

Through integrative psychotherapy, I combine a range of complementary therapeutic modalities to create tailored treatments plans and include the body, emotions and therapeutic relationship in the therapeutic process.
Psychotherapy is supportive in helping clients move through acute or long-term psychological distress. Rather than symptom-based relief, psychotherapy explores the historical roots of current distress and therefore aims to uproot the foundations of mental suffering for transformative change.

” He believes every relationship is unique, and the manner he brings to his sessions is both soothing and energising.
Rocco is an experienced psychologist with training working with adults, adolescents & children. He is sensitive to the issues young people face today, and how these issues uniquely present within heterosexual and LGBTQIA+ communities. Issues of identity, belonging, low self-worth, people-pleasing, perfectionism, anxiety, periods of depression; essentially, complex histories and how they impact the relationship to oneself and others. These problems can be the underlying cause of a lack of felt purpose or meaning in one’s life. Rocco’s goal is to help people befriend themselves & reconnect with that sense of purpose

Relationship Issues Counsellors
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
