I specialize in working with ADHD, anxiety, depression, and trauma understanding the unique challenges and potential strengths that can come with them.
Are you feeling the weight of being stuck, despite your best efforts? You’ve had some success but also feel exhausted. Life's hurdles have felt overwhelming, adding to the stress and disconnection you're experiencing. You long to rediscover a sense of connection and presence, to feel whole again. While you know deep down that change is possible, the journey seems daunting, especially when facing it alone. That's why you're seeking support, a safe and nurturing environment where judgment is left at the door. I work with youth, adults and couples as well as those finding they need support as partners, caregivers and parents.

My approach, rooted in the Gottman Method, can be specially tailored for couples where one or both partners have ADHD and or trauma.
Do you want to rediscover the connection your relationship craves? Conversations have been going in circles, and the tools you've tried aren't working. ADHD and past traumas are adding unique challenges, often leading to frustration, misunderstandings, and tension. You don’t have to navigate these challenges alone. I can help you build a relationship where both of you can truly thrive, a partnership that not only endures but also flourishes. I know how frustrating it can be when communication breaks down and it feels like you’re not on the same page. I’m here to help you find your way back to one another.

I specialize in working with adults who are struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, ADHD, and depression. As a solution-focused therapist, I utilize evidence-based techniques to help you identify and overcome negative thought patterns. If you're struggling to find a sense of well-being in your life, you may feel chronically unwell, and disconnected from your core sense of self. You might find yourself relying on unfulfilling coping strategies, or caught in patterns that lead you back to the same point, again and again.

My specialties include DBT, CBT, and ADHD coaching to help with symptoms of impulsivity, inattention, distractibility, disorganization, poor executive function, and other challenges associated with ADHD as well as emotion regulation, boundaries and unclear sense of identity associated with BPD.
Making changes can be hard! Come explore and discover what motivates you and gain self-awareness. My approach is client-centred, strengths-based, and goal-oriented. I've been told I'm relatable, bring warmth, humour, and authenticity to my sessions and I provide a safe space where people can be open about anything (I believe secrets cause sickness). I've also been told I am good at helping with accountability as well. I'd love to work with you to create goals to improve your life, and then build a roadmap to achieve them. "Empathy and unconditional positive regard" (no judgement) is my motto.

My ideal client is someone who has struggled to feel comfortable in their own skin. Someone who has a history of beating themselves up because they cannot live up to their own or others' expectations. I often work with clients who want to learn how to better process their emotions and understand why they do what they do. Many clients have a history of anxiety, depression, or trauma. Whether it's due to harm caused by others, body shame, chronic illness, ADHD, ASD, or anything else, we will work to understand where these thoughts and feelings come from to allow for healing and change.

As someone with lived experience of ADHD, I understand the challenges of finding a therapist who adapts to your way of communicating and thinking.
My client focus is working with neurodivergent people with conditions such as ADHD, Autism and Learning Disabilities. Although these differences can be an asset in many situations, individuals may have difficulty navigating a world not necessarily designed for them. Feelings of depression, anxiety, anger, and low self esteem may linger from years of feeling misunderstood or being under-equipped in social, school or work settings. Exploring your strengths, obstacles and goals allow you to take charge of your mental health and work with your difference rather than against it.

In the past seven years, I have helped many people work through stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, body struggles, ADHD symptoms, relationship conflict, performance issues, and optimizing health and routines.
People sometimes feel they are alone and that no one understands what they’re going through. They might just ‘push through’ because they believe they have to, try things that work for others but not them, or forget what’s helpful to them anymore. These efforts can leave anyone feeling stuck, tired, and looking for change. I use an approach that is practical, strengths-focused, and recognizing the whole individual. My aim is to build a therapeutic relationship of understanding, possibility, and direction to help folks get closer to what they want in life.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
