My approach has a strong foundation in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. As well, I integrate a number of different therapeutic approaches into my practice and seek to fit the approach to the individual needs, preferences, and strengths of each person.
CBT is a short term, goal-oriented treatment that takes a hands-on, approach to problem-solving. The goal is to change patterns of thinking and/or behavior that are behind your difficulties, and so change the way you feel, based on the idea that our thoughts cause our feelings and behaviours.
