Oliver is a third-year counseling intern who is currently completing a Masters of Counselling at City University of Canada. Oliver takes a person-centered approach toward change and is experienced in both solution-focused brief therapy as well as emotion-focused individualized therapy. Oliver possesses extensive experience working with children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities across a wide variety of organizations and agencies. Oliver’s counseling approach is informed by his understanding of how systemic barriers can create challenges and obstacles, as well as ways of navigating through them.
As a therapist, I prefer taking a practical approach towards change. Our initial sessions with focus on identifying the problem as well as removing any obstacles towards change. Clients can expect to be offered psychoeducation as well as therapeutic tools for mindfulness, stress management or self-regulation.
