I specialize in anxiety/stress, depression, ADHD, and children/family therapy.
Anxiety/Stress, ADHD & Relationships- You feel overwhelmed by every little thing and are experiencing a lot of stress/anxiety as a result. You feel down about yourself for letting things "slip" but just can't find the motivation to make changes. Perhaps you are having a hard time focusing and can't turn off your mind from all the racing thoughts. It's starting to take a toll on your self-esteem and ability to cope with your stress. When you have a lot on your plate and just cant seem to catch a break, it can be hard to find the good in life and think clearly. This is where therapy can help you get "unstuck" and start feeling better

In addition to working with ADHD, anxiety/stress and depression, I have a keen interest in supporting clients who are dealing with "Imposter Syndrome", multicultural issues, LGBTQIA+, transgenerational/racial trauma and youth/teen issues.
ADHD, Stress/Anxiety, Self-Esteem, LGBTQIA+. You have a hard time "turning off" your racing mind and are feeling stressed. It might be hard for you to focus and you find yourself struggling to get things done. Perhaps you are struggling with procrastination, low motivation, or feeling in a "funk" because life is just too much sometimes. When you are stressed and overwhelmed, it can be hard to feel good about yourself and make the changes you'd like to see. If you are ready to work on yourself and start feeling better, you have come to the right place! You deserve to start feeling like YOU again.

Waitlist for new clients
I have two areas of specialty ADHD and psychological assessment.
Clients I work really well with are interested in collaborating and brainstorming about the challenging situations and difficulties in their lives. Overtime, we work together to develop understanding and solutions. I particularly enjoy working with individuals who suffer from ADHD or are impacted by someone who has ADHD. Of course clients with ADHD also often have co-morbid conditions like anxiety, depression and PTSD; I am very happy to help them with the issues related to these problems as well. Also, I enjoy completing complex psychological assessments; I find them challenging in a very good way.

Change and healing are possible and you don't have to do it alone. As a therapist, I take a holistic, non-pathologizing, and neurodivergent affirming approach to helping my clients heal from trauma, find peace with themselves and their emotions, cope with life challenges, and cultivate gentle self-compassion. I support adults (18+) and couples who struggle with a variety of challenges, and as a late diagnosed neurodivergent therapist, I have a special passion in working with late-diagnosed ADHD and autism. I also support parents in navigating the challenges of fertility, pregnancy, parenthood, and postpartum anxiety/depression.

I know what works against anxiety, depression, and ADHD.
Racing heart, shaking hands, breathlessness, and an urgent sense of imminent danger are some of the signs of anxiety. Some people have heart palpitations or flutters, prickling sensations, choking sensations, dizziness or nausea. It's important to rule out medical factors, but if a doctor has told you that your symptoms are being caused by stress or anxiety, know that this is a highly treatable condition and it doesn't mean you're weak or crazy. In fact, feeling like you're losing your mind and having difficulty focusing are features of extreme anxiety! We can address this.

My areas of focus include: ADHD, depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, substance use, addiction, and burn out.
The harder times that life brings can leave us feeling a variety of emotions; anxiety, sadness, anger. Attempting to cope with these events and emotions alone can be exhausting. I began my journey to become a Psychotherapist as I found myself wanting to support others as they work through these times and strive for greater self-awareness, understanding, or self-improvement. I believe that everyone is deserving of support and compassion.

ADHD, BPD, Emotions, Relationships/Couples, Anxiety/Stress- You're having a hard time concentrating and getting things done. You struggle to find motivation to complete your daily tasks and then feel down about yourself. You struggle with shifting moods and don't know how to cope. When anxiety and overwhelm take over, it can be hard to function because your concentration and motivation start to slip. And, if you struggle with low mood and negative self-talk, it can be hard to get out of that "funk" and shift to a more productive mindset.

ADHD affirming care, all neurotypes are celebrated.
Feeling overwhelmed? Wondering if it ever gets any easier? Struggling with boundaries in your personal or work life. Challenging parental relationships, family conflict and estrangement and can leave you wondering who you really are. You might be experiencing the grief or loss of a person or a relationship. Adult diagnosis of ADHD or other neurodivergence can bring heavy emotions and frustration. What if we could move at your pace to uncover root causes of your current pain and return to wholeness? Having begun my own healing therapy journey years ago, and a recent ADHD diagnosis, I appreciate what it feels like to be understood.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
