Many of my clients have experienced panic attacks, obsessive worry, anger, depression, low self esteem - that have been brought on or worsened by relationship difficulties and negative - even traumatic experiences. Life can be very hard - when feeling hurt, scared, or humiliated, our impulse is to withdraw from others, fight back, or pretend everything is okay. I have worked as a Clinical Counsellor / Therapist for 25 yrs. I specialize in Mood and Anxiety issues (inc PTSD and OCD) as well as relationship conflict / stress. I utilize a blend of evidence based approaches, drawing heavily from Cognitive Behavioral and Emotion Focused Therapies. I work with compassion, respect, and authenticity with each individual.
One of the most difficult things that is asked of clients, is to be vulnerable and talk about hurtful - sometimes traumatic - experiences and uncomfortable emotions. Whether your difficulties are right on the surface, or deeply embedded - my goal is to listen and provide a respectful environment in which you can learn and grow.
