I enjoy working with young people and adults alike. I have been told by past clients that I am open, honest and friendly, which are qualities that all clients have valued. I like to problem solve and am a very logical and practical person. Having lived in several different countries, I have developed a good understanding of a range of issues for people from different cultures and backgrounds. I like to ask questions and truly get to know someone and never assume to know better. My clients are always the experts in their lives and I see myself as a guide to help them navigate to a calmer place.
I predominantly work within a CBT framework but am not prescriptive and feel it is important to tailor therapy to a clients needs. I draw on many other skills and techniques which means I can be quite eclectic in my approach. I have a wealth of experience in working with anxiety, depression, OCD and eating disorders to name but a few.
Psychology is more than just a career to me, I believe in what I do and that I can help people to develop the right skills and tools to and overcome their difficulties. A client recently described me as a "fixer", in terms of helping them to work through their problems and find rational solutions.
