Do you suffer from overwhelming feelings? I am an experienced integrative counsellor working with trauma - whether from conflict, abuse or other difficult life events. I am compassionate and my approach is warm, empathic and accepting. I work to create a safe and non-judgmental space where you feel able to open up and explore your life. I have experience working with clients who have complex PTSD, anxiety, depression and OCD as well as those with life problems due to bereavement, illness, job stress, parenting, difficult relationships and low self-esteem.
I offer short or longer term help. I welcome clients from different cultures and backgrounds and I also work as a counsellor for a local refugee charity. I grew up in the Netherlands, Sweden and the US and then lived in Namibia, Kenya and Togo before settling in Oxford in 2001.
It is courageous to come to counselling and share difficult feelings but I have seen how much growth and healing can result. I's not easy to find the right counsellor so I offer a free 15 min online session or phone call so you can see if you and I are the right fit. I offer online sessions on Zoom/WhatsApp.
