Would you like help with difficult feelings, anxiety, low mood, relationships or the impact of trauma and adverse past experiences? Are you an expectant or new parent finding parenthood hard? Are you a young person, struggling with the transition to adulthood? Since obtaining my degree in Psychology in 2016, I have worked with families and people across the life span, with different levels of privilege and discrimination and with a range of mental health difficulties, spanning from anxiety and depression to more enduring presentations (e.g., psychosis) and addiction (e.g., substance use, gambling).
I now work as a Clinical Psychologist in two specialist services: an NHS service for expectant and new parents and children’s social services, where I support young people (16-25) leaving the care system. In my different professional roles, I appreciate how our early history and circumstances shape our relational patterns and how we see the world.
I consider how various aspects of our social identity (e.g., gender, race, SES) and systems of power around us affect how we feel about ourselves. In therapy, I draw on approaches that help us contextualise your mental health difficulties, build on your strengths and allow us to move towards your aspirations.
