I am a warm, compassionate person and experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor. We can all find ourselves in times of difficulty, whether in a time of crisis, feeling stuck in repetitive patterns, feeling disconnected, struggling to find meaning, or feeling like our true self has become buried. Counselling offers space to slow down and connect with yourself in the presence of another person, to be truly heard and to explore difficult thoughts or emotions. It can enable reflection on helpful or unhelpful patterns of thinking, feeling and relating, and welcome deeper self-acceptance and self-compassion.

Hi, I'm Kristin. I have been a counsellor for over fifteen years, and have been blessed and trusted with countless stories of the human experience. I consider it an honour and a privilege to help others purposefully and consciously connect with their own power. We all, at times, need support and guidance as we become aware of what we need to heal and attempt to navigate life’s challenges with authenticity and grace. It takes courage and vulnerability to ask for help; and sometimes it takes patience and commitment to find the right help. If you are curious to find out how I can help you…let’s chat.

At times life can be distressing or leave us feeling less able to cope. Perhaps you feel at odds with yourself; unsure of how to move forward or aware that you don't want to continue feeling as you do now.

Hi, I’m Matt, a BACP registered Humanistic Therapist. I am available for face to face sessions in Brighton and Hove and also work online and over the phone. Experiencing difficult feelings and struggling emotionally at times is a natural part of life. I can help with this. The problems may not go away but I can help make them feel smaller and lighter by helping you explore them at a pace you are comfortable with, in a safe, non-judgmental space. I believe everyone experiences the world uniquely and everything is valid.

I'm an experienced integrative therapist and work flexibly and dynamically with adults, couples, families and trainee counsellors. Early relationships and life events may have shaken your ability to fully value yourself or others. You might be bereaved, struggling with a relationship, experiencing depression or anxiety. I'm objective and compassionate, offering support to connect with frightening or buried feelings. Letting go of strategies that no longer work for you, without pressure or expectation, can help you to find your own truth and a sense of who you really are.

We all find relationships and intimacy challenging - being close to people challenges our beliefs about ourselves and our trusted ways of relating do not always serve us well. When we get stuck over and over again in our intimate, family or work relationships, it is often due to our deeply buried or unconscious beliefs about ourselves. Many of my clients express what a relief it can be to share their problems and to realise that they are not weird or sick. We all struggle for a reason. In a group it can be especially helpful to realise that you are not alone - there are other people struggling with 'what it means to be human'.

I am here to listen and to support you in exploring things that are creating challenges or distress in your life. Whether you’re struggling in a relationship, feeling worried, anxious, depressed, or experiencing loss I can help. Talking to a counsellor can help to stop thoughts circling around and around to alleviate feelings of distress and support you in working towards changes you want in your life by connecting or reconnecting with your own needs and feelings. Talking to someone who isn’t connected to what’s going on means you can explore thoughts and feelings without worrying about other people’s feelings or feeling judged.

The clinic is a non-judgemental, respectful environment in which people can speak freely about what’s wrong. As a trained counsellor, I encourage my clients to develop insight into self-damaging or limiting thought and behaviour patterns - and I help them make positive change and move forward into a happier life. It could be depression, stress and anxiety, bereavement and loss, cross-cultural issues, life changes or an abusive relationship. The Crysalis clinic is available to anyone who is struggling to cope.

Our mental health is connected with how we feel about ourselves and our life experiences. I offer a safe counselling relationship in which you can better understand these experiences, the challenges and struggles you face, and work out how you can respond. I will work to create a relationship with you in which you can feel safe enough to talk about difficult or painful experiences, thoughts and feelings. I will not judge you, no matter what you need to talk about. My aim is to help you start to connect with and feel differently about yourself. This can lead to greater self-awareness and acceptance.

If you’re feeling things have now got beyond your control, I can help. You might be feeling this way because of a current situation or by something in the past. Maybe this goes back to childhood. I specialise in emotional difficulty and relational trauma. Perhaps you’re feeling misunderstood and adrift, or that your needs or boundaries play second fiddle to those of others? Do you struggle to stay in control of your emotions or end up feeling hurt without really knowing why? If so, I understand you and I can help you to feel grounded, insightful and better equipped - not just to manage, but to thrive.

I am a psychotherapist and group analyst and have been a therapist for nearly 30 years in many different settings. In my approach, I am interested in making connections between experiences and difficulties in the present, with events and relationships from the past. In my experience, difficulties people experience as adults can often be part of a repeated pattern. I will be curious about relationships in your life but also the way you relate to yourself and to others. This will include how it is in the therapy relationship - whether individually or group.
