I am an integrative therapist, offering different holistic therapeutic approaches to children and young people based on their individual needs.
We can all feel overwhelmed, stuck or struggle to make changes to relieve our distress or difficulties. As your therapist I will work alongside you to explore your story, providing opportunities to see yourself separate from your difficulty. By gaining a better understanding of the self and our habitual patterns of thinking and behaviour you can bring an alternative story out of the shadows, which could empower you to make changes, improve your relationships and benefit from improved mental and physical wellbeing. I am registered with the BACP and BABCP.

Hi I’m Carly. I’m a an integrative therapist which means I don’t think there is a one size fits all approach to therapy. So I will work to tailor therapy to your needs. I specialise though in working with children & young people, survivors of abuse and the LGBTQIA+ community. I have years of experience working with women, children and young people, having worked for respected charities like Women's Aid, The NSPCC, Kinergy and Off The Record. I’m also an artist, and a big believer in the healing and communicative power of play & creativity. I am happy to work with you in this way if you want to-though there’s no pressure to.

My aim is to provide a space where you feel safe to bring and explore what is bothering you and where you are heard and understood. When we are listened to from the heart and met with curiosity and compassion it is amazing what can change in our lives. We can begin to understand ourselves better, find self acceptance and our own wisdom This can help us feel more self loving and better able to navigate the ups and downs of life. I offer sessions in Nature and/or Indoors (see more info below).

I am trained as a child and adolescent art psychotherapist.
When we are bereaved it can feel as if our whole world has shattered and there is no one who understands. Whether or not our loss was expected, when someone dies it can seem as if we have been forced to walk through a door that we didn't even know was there. There is no way back. The outside world moves on fast, not realising what it's like to be left behind in a blizzard of complex feelings. People often try to cheer us up in a way that just makes us feel worse. If we have been bereaved it can be hard to talk to a parent who has their own worries, or there may simply be no words. There is no right or wrong way to grieve.

I have a deep passion in helping children to discover things that are perhaps stopping them from moving forward in the areas of their life.
Creating a safe and secure environment is paramount, enabling children the freedom to explore at their own pace is so important. My primary aim is to first build upon a trusting therapeutic relationship. It is through this foundation, I believe, that will path the way to the child growing emotionally. I will seek to build their confidence, helping them to believe in who they are and knowing that they have the tools in which to help themselves.

I offer counselling for children, young people & adults.
It's not always easy to reach out and ask for support. We often feel that we can manage on our own or don't want to bother anyone with our thoughts and feelings. It can be hard to find a balance between work, relationships, family & other commitments to prioritise yourself. No matter what brings you to therapy the most important part is the relationship we will share. I aim to ensure you feel heard & give you a space to work through anything you want to bring to help you have a greater insight & self-awareness and I will walk alongside you on this journey. Counselling isn't a one size fits all package it's as individual as you are.

I work with children, young people and their families, often when things are feeling difficult or overwhelming. Some of the reasons families have worked with me include: support to understand and manage feelings of anxiety, depression or frustration; difficulties with emotion-regulation; and difficulties within family relationships, including parent-infant and parent-child relationships.

I help to put you and your child's mind at ease straight away by working together to offer helpful long-term strategies to best support you all.
Hi, I'm Lucy. I'm an integrative counsellor which means I will tailor my practice to your young person (ages 9-21 years) to best meet their counselling needs. Is your child struggling with knowing where they fit in? I use a range of interventions and like to work creatively with my clients to help them find comfort to explore who they really are. I find working online gives clients the safety to be themselves in their own space. I have worked with young people for over ten years including as a secondary school teacher before I trained as a counsellor. I have two years of experience working with the LGBTQ+ community.

My work and training in foster care and with disabled children and their families has enhanced my understanding of the long-term impact of trauma as well as the effects on families of being part of that system.
This world is a fast-moving, pressured and sometimes, bewildering place. We are expected to navigate it while carrying the heavy weight of the opinions and expectations of others. No wonder that we can become overwhelmed, worried and sad. I can’t (sadly) change the world or your experiences in it, but together, we might be able to find a way for you to move forward, feeling more in control, more confident and hopefully, happier.

The psychologist can help you. Count on the support of a professional. Many think that the psychologist is exclusive for mental illnesses, this is a myth, the psychologist works in several areas and uses the best and specific knowledge to help people to have an improvement, guidance or even a determination that generates doubts in several aspects of your everyday life.

Child Counsellors
Child psychologists in Bristol, ENG provide mental health therapy to children and are experts in child development.

Every comprehensive review of therapy with children shows that all credible approaches, when performed by a competent mental health clinician, produce almost the same results. About half of all kids will get better. Of those that improve, 80% will show progress in a relatively short time, while the remaining 20% will need longer-term support.

The best child therapists in Bristol build great relationships with the child and the parent. They also see the child's strengths and are open to hearing the child's possible solutions to the challenges the child faces. Finally, a good therapist appreciates the child's culture and is sensitive to the values of the child's community.
