I have worked with children from age 4-17 with a range of presenting issues including trauma, domestic violence, anxiety, self-harm, depression and school refusal. I have worked with neurodiverse young people with ADHD and ASC, as well as young people who are questioning their gender or sexual orientation. I also continue to practise in a special school setting with young people exhibiting challenging behaviours and significant emotional and mental health needs. The purpose of the therapeutic process is to support the young person to feel safe enough to explore the challenges they have faced in life either verbally or creatively.

Throughout my therapy sessions I encourage my clients to use a variety of art materials such as sand tray, paints and clay as a way for young people to express themselves. I believe these materials can be incredibly helpful in enabling a young person to express feelings. I believe that this can support a child to articulate what they may be struggling to verbalise.

My work centres around trauma, developmental trauma, emotional neglect, the highly sensitive person and the capacity to understand and express feelings and emotions. Through working with body awareness, somatically and with mindfulness breathing, you will come to understand how these feelings arise and why your body responds and behaves in the way it does; why you say things and act as you do. As you become aware of the effect of this on yourself and others, you can make informed decisions and choices on how to change this so that you live your life fully and authentically to reach its full potential.

I'm a Counselling Psychologist. I used to work in NHS services and I now work outside in nature. Therapy with me uses walk and talk appointments at a country park in Cambridge or a nature reserve near St Neots. This provides a different experience than being sat inside and can change how engaging in therapy feels. Some people find it easier to talk about difficulties in walk and talk sessions. I provide therapy for a wide range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, and couples counselling. I offer a free 30 minute telephone conversation to find out what help is needed and to answer any questions.

I believe all parts of you, including parts that might cause difficulties for yourself or for others, are worthy of compassion, understanding, safety and fulfilment. I think of therapy as a space for you to feel heard, make sense of your past experiences, and build self-compassion, self-knowledge, and the skills needed to live in greater alignment with your needs and desires. Together we can work to connect with different parts of you, listen to their stories, understand why they behave the way they do, and help you to gain clarity and make life-affirming choices in the present.

I'm passionate about freeing people suffering with anxiety, depression, weight & self esteem issues. I believe a lot of us get conditioned in our life at a very young age based on our environment and the people around us. We come up with irrational ideas of ourselves that we are not good enough or different or lack something, which causes pain within. Once you have an understanding of what your mind is trying to do for you then it becomes much easier to change a behaviour, belief or habit.

You might be unhappily confused or have difficult and dark feelings about issues and arrangements in your self and your life. You imagine there must be a way out of your difficulty or perhaps wish to coexist peacefully with it. But things are just not getting better. Many of us have difficulty working out ways of sorting out and resolving such difficulties alone. Perhaps gaining insight by working with a skilled 'other person' could help you.
