Within therapy changes takes place in the context of the therapeutic relationship, therefore it is essential for me to have a good working alliance with clients for them to feel safe enough to be able to explore their difficulties.
I am a Chartered and Registered Counselling Psychologist who adopts a pluralistic framework based on the premise that no one therapeutic approach is superior, and different clients are likely to benefit from different therapeutic methods at different points in time. The pluralistic position puts the client and their needs at the centre of therapy and is based on working collaboratively. I honestly believe that people are experts of themselves but with help from trained professionals they can have a better understanding of themselves and the reason(s) for their behaviours.

Welcome! I am an experienced Psychotherapist, Counsellor and Art psychotherapist. You may suffer from anxiety or depression or feel unsure about how to deal with relationship difficulties, separation , identity issues, bereavement ,mental health or addiction problems. You may feel stuck in certain patterns that you may wish to change and need support with. Making contact with people may feel difficult or you have low self confidence; the pandemic may have contributed to feelings of isolation and questioning one's future and purpose in life. In these situations it helps to express either verbally or through doing art your feelings.

I've worked with people experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-worth, relationship difficulties, loneliness & isolation, bereavement, conflicts at work or home, traumatic experiences & finding meaning, amongst many other issues - including a more general sense of unease or dissatisfaction.
I'm a warm and down-to-earth psychotherapist, working both online and in-person in Dalston, London E8 from Tuesdays to Fridays. I offer weekly therapy with adults on a 1-to-1 basis. Whilst I'm privileged to work with folk from many, varied walks of life, my early career was in the performance arts and I bring my experience and understanding of the particular difficulties that actors, musicians, dancers - & other creative folk - can face, to my work with them. In addition, my MSc Research Dissertation explored the impact of attending boarding school.

You might be struggling with difficult feelings like anxiety or depression, a painful loss, relationship issues or unhelpful behaviour patterns and need some support understanding what is going on for you. Clients who have difficulty navigating the world typically have not had sufficient recognition from important relationships which is the first step towards experiencing change & feeling better. Underlying my training and work is a commitment to diversity and inclusion and I encourage an environment where my clients can be themselves without feeling shame or embarrassment.

I have treated people from diverse backgrounds and addressed a wide range of issues such as depression, anxiety, loss, trauma, identity, and relationship difficulties.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy is about relationships, with yourself and others, both inside and out. It is the most theoretically developed talking therapy, with a strong evidence base, and can help alleviate symptoms such as anxiety and depression as well as lead to deep and lasting change. My approach is to foster an environment where we can work together to better understand the complexities of your mind and patterns that might be hindering your development. Together we can broaden your emotional range and help build resilience creating greater freedom, expression, and authenticity in your life.

The most important thing I can do for you is to help you understand yourself better, to know why you do the things you do and find certain situations difficult. I work with people who want to understand why they can't assert themselves, find enjoyment in life, make friends, recover from bereavement or the end of a relationship, why they get so angry, have addictions, obsessions and intrusive thoughts or why they don't know what to do about a partner who is controllling or abusive. Alternatively, I can offer EMDR, which is a treatment for trauma and other experiences from the recent or distant past which have adversely affected you.

I work with clients going through life transitions and struggling with past traumas and relationship issues.
There may be many reasons why you are seeking therapy at this point in your life. Perhaps you feel inclined to follow other people's wishes instead of your own. Perhaps you are unable to decide for yourself. Psychotherapy may bring you closer to what is true of you as an individual. From my perspective, the patient and the therapist actively participate in the transformation process. As a therapist, I provide you with the support and the space to figure things out in your own individual way.

I am a UKCP accredited psychotherapist working with individuals, couples and families. I currently work remotely via telephone or online video call. In my work I have found that people seek therapy for lots of different reasons during different points in their lives – you may be struggling with depression, relationship problems, a recent loss, low self-esteem, feeling anxious or stressed, or processing past hurts and trauma. You may not even know what brings you to therapy, but just have a feeling of being stuck and wanting to feel differently. These are all issues that we might explore together in therapy.

I work with a variety of issues including self-esteem, anxiety, depression, marital/relationship problems, stress, work related issues, addictions, teen problems and many more.
We all need help from time to time, and you shouldn't be embarrassed for asking for it. I am a down to earth and compassionate person, who understands what it is like to need a boost. In my years I have truly heard it all, and my biggest goal is to empower rather than judge my clients. One of my favourite quotes comes from Marisa Peer who explains that “to be happy you have to make peace with your past, love the present and feel so excited about the future”. No problem is too big to solve and I have witnessed counselling change the lives of so many people and I know I can help change yours too.

As a psychotherapist I can help you to overcome emotional pain and unrest. I believe most people experience difficulties in their relationships with others as well as themselves, which is why a good therapeutic relationship is the foundation of the healing process. I do this by building and strengthening the therapeutic relationship between us, creating a safe, non-judgmental space for you to share your thoughts and feelings. The ultimate goal would be to let you explore your strategies in managing emotional conflicts, enabling you to move forward. I have extensive experience in this field with very positive results.

You might be experiencing a sense of overwhelm, as if you've hit rock bottom, with pressures from every angle, making it challenging to navigate through each day. Maybe you have lost someone and are still struggling to come to terms with the loss. Or maybe you don’t feel happy in the relationship/s you’re in or in your job but you don't know how to find your way out or how to improve it. Perhaps something happened in your life and you’re struggling to make sense of it or maybe you don’t feel good about yourself or you don’t recognize yourself anymore. Maybe you have tried everything to help yourself but nothing worked.

I help those struggling with the emotional and psychological difficulties which undermine their enjoyment of life; and also those who simply want to better understand what makes them ‘tick’. Perhaps you are asking yourself: why am I in such a poor relationship, feeling anxious, behaving in a way which is causing problems, experiencing low mood? or sensing a disconnection from yourself, others, or the life you wish you could lead? If so then I am here to help and support you in making the changes that you need, and help you to understand how and why these issues have come into your life.

I believe the most important part of therapy the relationship between the therapist and client and so I offer a free 15-20 minute introductory session to meet and get a sense of whether we would work well together.
I have worked in therapy services for nearly 15 years and qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2015. During this time I have worked in a variety of settings, ranging from working with people with mild-moderate depression or anxiety to working with people who have needed care in a hospital setting. Through these experiences I have learnt how to tailor the therapy approach to suit each individual person based on their current struggles, their life stage, and their life goals. I understand how daunting it can be to ask for help and approach my work with kindness, curiosity and compassion.

Relationship Issues Counsellors
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
