I know from experience that it can be hard to know where to start, and to take the first step. Especially if feeling uncertain, vulnerable or anxious. I welcome you to contact me for an initial chat. We can figure things out from there.

This approach facilitates reconnection with your self-worth, overcoming low self-esteem, relationship issues, anxiety and depression that can stem from it.
Having therapy can be a difficult decision, especially when you feel low, self-critical, lonely, anxious, not worthy of having this type of care for your own self. The power to feel better and release this pain is within you, and I can help you access it. Together we can learn the best way for you to reach and keep a good self-esteem and mental health. I offer a confidential space in which you can feel understood, cared for, free to talk about anything that you require. I also offer walking therapy sessions, in peaceful green areas in London. For some clients this has proven deeply beneficial, if interested please enquire.

I believe therapy can offer a safe space for self-discovery that provides you with an opportunity to creatively discover how you want to live. I am particularly inclined to listen to how an individual describes their world, as I believe each person experiences life in a unique way that can rarely be communicated to someone else. I have worked extensively with individuals facing challenges such as anxiety (towards a specific situation and generalised), depression, breakdown of a relationship, grieving, work issues, infertility and addiction. I also focus on the metaphysical meaning of physical illness to improve wellbeing.

Welcome to a safe place to talk. There are many reasons why people reach out for help. It may be connected with relationship difficulties, feeling lonely, suffering a bereavement, experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, struggling with depression, trauma, anger, low self-esteem, or work issues. Sometimes there is nothing specific to name. I am a qualified, registered and experienced therapist, holding a degree in psychology and I have been professionally trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy. I am a member of the professional bodies UKCP and FPC.

Being in the helping profession for 14 years gave me a deeper level of understanding of problems that we all can face at any point in life and allows me to help more clients each day. I work with clients who experience anxiety, panic attacks and depression but also with people who experienced abuse and are currently moving on from abusive relationships or dealing with past traumas. I also work with clients who feel stuck and can't seem to be able to move forward with their lives. I use my experience and qualifications to help. I understand life can be difficult at times and we all need some added support from time to time.

Stress, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, bereavement, anger, low self-esteem, and loneliness are just some of the reasons why you might want to try psychotherapy.
I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist in private practice, and I welcome anyone who feels that psychotherapy may provide the opportunity to consider their life. It is a collaborative process between the person seeking help and myself. It affords the chance to discover in which direction you might want your life to go.

” Former client ( Anxiety & Depression).
I'm an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and personal tutor (PG Dip CBT, Institute of Psychiatry) with extensive experience and a genuine passion for helping people struggling with anxiety, depression or both. Working in several NHS Trusts, a specialist bereavement service and private practice, I have worked supportively with many people to identify and break down negative cycles so they can move forward positively in their lives. I often integrate approaches which sit well with CBT, such as Compassion Focused Therapy or ACT, to tailor a course of therapy which will offer the best individual support.

Are you struggling to make sense of life at the moment, and who you are? Perhaps you're feeling overwhelmed, or stuck. Maybe you're dealing with depression or anxiety, have low self-esteem, or problems in your relationships. Do you want to feel differently, to feel better, but aren’t sure how; or if that's even possible? I will listen to you to learn your story, and together we will unpick the things that are causing you difficulties, challenge any outdated and unhelpful thinking, and find ways to strengthen your sense of self and help you achieve your goals. I will listen with empathy, curiosity, compassion - and without judgement.

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
