Hi, sex and relationship problems, working with couples and individuals is my main focus. I have trained as a general counsellor supporting people who suffer with difficulties relating to all lifes problems and challenges. I have also trained as a psychosexual therapist and at present I am continuing to study, researching the effects of online pornography on couples and the impact it has on their relationship. I believe that change is possible whatever challenges the journey involves. I work with a positive and optimistic out look, remaining non judgmental and empathic at all times. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.

Counselling can be helpful for a variety of different difficulties such as low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, loss and many more.
Having several years' experience working with adults, children and young people, I can offer support to a wide age range from 13+. Reaching out for support can be incredibly overwhelming and scary. It’s very important to me to try and make this as simple and accessible as possible. I qualified as a counsellor in 2019 and have worked within mental health for over 5 years, in the charity and voluntary sector. Removing barriers to counselling support is very close to my heart and I pride myself on being a down to earth practitioner.

Often we turn to therapy when we are faced with problems we can no longer carry alone. No longer feeling at home within ourselves, we feel called to reconnect with who we are. When we experience a ‘loss of self’, a painful rift emerges within the psyche. We feel severed from meaning, purpose and joy. This loss can be caused by any number of things - relationship issues, challenging life transitions, grief - and can be experienced as any number of symptoms: depression, anxiety, self-destructive behaviours. It can also be caused by the past invading our present in the persistent resurfacing of old psychological wounds and traumas.

Project Trauma was founded to work with anyone who feels they need specialist support for psychological difficulties including anxiety, low mood, grief, work, relationship, or health problems.
Hi, my name is Ben and I am a Consult Clinical Psychologist at Project Trauma. I set up Project Trauma to provide the kind of personalised, compassionate psychological support that people need following events in their life which they have struggled to cope with. Psychological distress can affect anyone and everyone will have a different reaction to traumatic events in their life. We all have different tolerance and ways of coping, but at some stage in our life we will all need help from somewhere.

I can help with many life challenges, however, I have specific training and experience of working with childhood trauma and relationship issues.
I have over fifteen years of experience working as a counsellor and mentor and now as a counselling psychologist. I have extensive experience of working in the NHS, MIND, Off the Record and students. I offer a calm safe space where together we can find clarity on what has brought you to seek counselling. At times it can be very confusing and frustrating when we can't make sense of our emotions and often feel stuck or overwhelmed. I work collaboratively, cultivating a mindful and inquisitive approach to understand how clients construe their inner reality and life experiences, which paves the way for more fulfilment in daily life.

Sometimes, we can feel overwhelmed by life and we don't recognize why we feel the way we do. This can lead to us feeling disconnected with others but also with ourselves. Sometimes the problem is not always clear and by talking things through in a safe space, it can help us understand what is happening. Navigating issues through a therapeutic relationship can empower us to progress in your journey of self-discovery and thrive in life. I can offer you a safe, confidential space for you to feel heard, bring any issues that may be affecting you and your ability to flourish.

I value individual difference, honesty, integrity, finding your own path, standing out from the crowd, connection, relationship.
Although I regularly work with clients of all ages and genders, the majority of my clients tend to be young men, who have unresolved feelings or experiences which are impacting on their daily lives. I work as an integrative counsellor, from a person-centred perspective. This means that you can bring whatever you wish to the session, while we work at your pace and depth. I employ theory and techniques from CBT, psychodynamic and other therapeutic philosophies which I feel may be useful. Where we start is not the important thing as ultimately, you will naturally discover the things that matter the most to you.

Many of us begin therapy when we realise we need to change something, heal from something or understand ourselves better. There could be something you know is hurting, you might feel burnt out, overwhelmed, or feeling stuck and dissatisfied with life. Therapy can help you reach a clearer understanding of yourself and gives you a safer space to discover and develop more satisfying ways of living. In therapy we can explore, together, where you’ve been, where you are right now, and where you hope to get to. Therapy can help you get back in touch with yourself, find your voice and make sense of challenging emotions.

Relationship Issues Counsellors
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
