Whether due to recent events or past ones, many people struggle with grief, loss, food and body, and traumatic experiences, leaving them feeling stuck, overwhelmed and needing support. My professional expertise is in working with clients struggling with trauma and PTSD; struggling with eating disorders, body image and identity; child and adult bereavement; clients undergoing cancer treatment; end of life care; and carers. This breadth of experience has informed my understanding of the universality of inner conflict and distress, and how the tools of self-exploration and insight are essential to effect change in the here-and-now.
I take an integrated approach to therapy, drawing on music, movement, visual arts, EMDR and interpersonal dynamics to support a warm, authentic relationship with clients. Sometimes the arts can help us to express the inexpressible, and can allow us to explore more deeply what we are struggling with than only talking. No acting or creative skills needed!
It is important to me and our work together that we create a non-judgemental space that feels safe; I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to get to know one another, as it can be hard to know whether a new therapist is right for you.
