Hello I am a professionally qualified BACP accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with over 20 years of counselling experience. I draw from CBT, humanistic approaches and solution focused therapy. I offer a space where there is respect, warm understanding and sensitive encouragement to explore problems and to develop new ways of coping. Our first session would be an opportunity to look at what issues are concerning you and to see how we can work together. If you then decide you would like to continue, we can arrange to meet again.
I see people facing all sorts of problems, as well as those whose goal is to explore their lives further. I have worked as a counsellor and supervisor for, Cardiff University, GP Practice and a charity for families for children of children with disabilities. I have also conducted research on depression, caring, self esteem, family life & end-of-life care.
I realise that it can be hard coming to see a counsellor for the first time and I will try to make the first session as welcoming and easy as possible for you to talk about what brought you to counselling.
