10 Years experience as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) with Adults in private practice. In addition to this, I've been working for Teens In Crisis (TIC+) and trained to specialise working with young adults and teenagers. My clients gain strategies, practical & emotional, which help them deal with what was hindering/hurting them. Issues my clients and I work with most, are Low Self Esteem, Anxiety, Depression, Perfectionism, OCD tendencies, Self Harm, Suicidal thoughts. 20 Years ago I started training as an NLP practitioner, which means I have a wide range of tools on my therapeutic tool belt.
I offer blocks of 6 sessions, which can be extended. I always offer a free 30min consultation, as we both need to know we can work together (with teenagers, this first session is with a parent in the room for half the time). We then contract, and create a therapeutic goal. I am compassionate, dedicated to & focussed on the goal. I am your cheerleader.
I am direct, honest and straight. No faff... I am there to help, and often use humour to help you figure things out. With unconditional positive regard. The fortunate by product of being a CYPS counsellor, is that quite a few of my adult clients are parents. They are seeking for help to deal with their own issues, so they can better understand their teens.
