As a person-centred counsellor I aim to support clients to recognise their own strengths and abilities, so that they feel more able to work through issues and concerns at a pace that is right for them. I provide a safe and confident space so that clients feel heard, accepted and listened to without judgement for criticism. I work with competence, confidence, empathy and always have my client’s best interest at heart. Seeing things from the clients perspective helps to facilitate personal growth, change and enables clients to make life choices that are right for them.
I worked for the NHS as front line staff, this is in addition to my role as a registered counsellor. I work with a variety of emotional and physical issues including, anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, self-harm, bereavement, trauma, abuse, chronic illness and work related issues. I also am experienced in sexual health, sexual assault and HIV.
I understand how hard it can be to carry difficult emotions around with us as we try to manage our daily lives. We can feel alone, overwhelmed by our worries and concerns. We feel isolated, it's as if no one, sees us or even cares. Asking for help can be daunting, but the right support at the right time can make a massive difference.
