It can be really difficult to share your deepest concerns, fears, and issues. Trusting another person with your ‘stuff’ can feel deeply uncomfortable and risky. With this in mind, I do my best to build a relationship with you (and your partner or partners) – in which you feel accepted and respected. No matter why you have come to therapy, or what you may share during each session, my role is to support and help you make sense of what's going on for you. It is not to judge, or tell you what to do.
My overall approach is largely informed by the non-pathologising perspectives of Narrative Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Relational Psychotherapy, Positive Psychology, Neuroscience, Attachment & Developmental theory. I am a realist and do not believe there is no single theory, therapy, or approach that is right for us all.
I work with individuals, couples and polycules challenged by bereavement, divorce or separation, changes in status, identity & sexuality issues, and more. I particularly enjoy working with those trying to make sense of finding themselves in or after an affair; with the 'cheater' and the 'betrayed' after an affair; and those identifying as the 'other person'.
