Now adding clients to waiting list. Expected wait time is four to six weeks. To grow and heal, you have to face the parts of yourself that you don’t show yourself or the world. However, you do not need to do that alone. I provide a non-judgmental space for self-honesty and integrating parts of yourself that got lost or left behind. Reclaiming your well-being is about feeling seen and understood. As people, we heal through honestly connecting with ourselves, recognizing and meeting unmet needs, and coming back into alignment with our deepest values and who we are underneath the pain and shame.

Life can be challenging and you are not alone in your struggles. We often get stuck in using coping strategies that are no longer serving us well. The process of therapy can help you discover what is causing you to suffer and how you can improve your responses to life situations. You will find that some things are within your control and also that acceptance is key to those that are not. I believe that all of us have an innate tendency to move towards healing and a trusting therapeutic relationship can help you with that.

Accepting new clients! (Self-pay only, not in network with any insurance.) I work with adolescents, couples, families, young adults, and women! Family relationships can be the most rewarding and long-lasting. Sometimes additional support is needed to help relationships flourish. I work with teens to develop coping skills and help families increase resilience. Growing up can be so tough! My specialties include gender dysphoria and resolving faith crises. In couples therapy, I utilize EFT to help couples repair bonds strained from miscommunication, disengagement, or unmet needs.

As a neurodivergent therapist, my passion lies in creating a safe and understanding space for neurodivergent clients. I believe that each person's journey is unique and deserves to be honored with empathy and respect. My approach is deeply rooted in the understanding that neurodiversity is not a disorder but a different way of experiencing and navigating the world. I strive to build a therapeutic relationship based on trust and collaboration, where my clients feel heard and validated. I recognize the challenges that neurodivergent individuals may face in a society that often prioritizes conformity and aim to empower my clients.

You don’t find your authentic self- you uncover it. Let me help you discover who you are and whatever roadblocks are stopping you. We will explore depression, anxiety, fear, or unhealthy patterns in your relationships. Together we can help you live a life where joy is not something you long for but can feel every single day. Through my own journey in therapy I learned that change is not only possible, but it is real and lasting. Although our lives can become heavy and seemingly unbearable, there is hope. All is not lost. Suffering is not inevitable.

I’ve been a counselor and a coach for over a dozen years now and I have learned that to be our best, to truly make positive changes in our lives we need to address the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. Our goal is the full integration of the emotional child, the intellectual adult, the physical body, and the spirit guide (soul). I believe that everyone is capable of, is in fact entitled to, a life of happiness, love, peace, and fulfillment. I utilize an integrative approach that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), empathetic listening, mindfulness, and spirituality.

I chose to become a counselor because of the profound, positive role that counseling has played in my life. Having experienced depression, anxiety, and other difficult life experiences, the help, strength, and support from good counselors gave me the tools to move forward in my life with a stronger sense of confidence and peace within myself. It is my greatest desire to bring that type of help and support to you as you face your life's struggles. You can feel assured that your concerns will be met with empathy and compassion. I completed my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a 4.0 GPA. I look forward to meeting you!

My own healing journey began at a very young age. I have had many experiences throughout my life, teaching me that healing is possible. These experiences led me to studying and learning various therapeutic techniques such as: EMDR, Somatic Experiencing and Integral Somatic Psychology. These trauma focused techniques can help guide us through deep suffering and emotional pain, toward healing the mind, body and spirit. Even when your path seems darkest, there is hope and light along the way. It takes courage to face demons from the past and move forward with strength and hope toward the future.

It can be hard to reach out for help, especially when sorting through all the complex thoughts and feelings associated with the things that concern you. Feeling heard and supported are very important in any relationship, and the therapist/client relationship is no different. As a Licensed Professional Counselor in AZ with over 15 years of experience working in the behavioral health field, I have been able to assist many individuals trying to “figure it out.”

FAQs - About Therapy and Counseling

How can I find a therapist in 85205?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
