As soft-bellied mammals, we're all vulnerable in the world and in relationships. We often receive the message that if we're just tough or smart enough, we should be fine. I've learned that the toughest, smartest, and most resilient people struggle and there are always good reasons. I help people find ways to create more security in their relationships by understanding where attachment instincts may be tangled up with survival instincts that make efforts to connect feel confusing and painful. Using Emotionally Focused Therapy and Somatic Experiencing, I help you feel better in your relationships with yourself, others, and your past.
With nearly 5 decades of life experience, I'm pretty convinced that the hardest thing about hurting is when it feels like nobody gets it. I understand longing, pain, and fear and see people's goodness no matter what you or they've done. I don't play the blame game and I promise to compassionately support and challenge you in creative and often fun ways.
Walking alongside and supporting you to embrace your fears, find your courage and grow is what I love to do most. This is a place of real, sustainable growth. Whether coming to sessions by yourself or with others in your life, you get to share your troubles here and be truly seen and heard. As Ted Lasso says- "I can not wait to unpack that with you." ;-)
