I am a firm believer that it is okay not to be okay and it is okay to ask for help. I strive to break the stigma around mental health, substance abuse, and seeking mental health services especially within minority communities where seeing a therapy is not a norm. I strive to normalize mental illness and addiction as we have normalized physical health. On this mission, I have had the pleasure to provide therapeutic services to diverse populations, including adolescents, adults, and families, via individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy.
As a clinician I strive for a collaborative approach by working hand in hand with clients to make the difficult emotions/daily stressors easier to deal/sit with. I provide clients the space to access their own wisdom, supporting them in figuring out what works best for them, and honoring their journey of healing and change.
I am passionate about traveling and tie it with how I practice as a clinician. I read a quote somewhere that said "travel and change of place impart new vigor to the mind." Therapy is provides an outlet to impart new vigor of the mind that pain, trauma, or unhealthy behaviors made it appear as impossible.
