I also recognize the importance of finding a therapist that is the best fit for you. I am a clinical member of AAMFT (American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy), and a licensed marriage and family therapist. While I work with many couples and families, a large portion of my practice is individuals. My approach is strength based, which means I focus on individual and family strengths and resources.
I have a Masters and Ph.D. in Family Therapy, and have worked in this community doing therapy for 20 years. I specialize in adolescents, couples, trauma recovery, life transitions, addiction recovery, early childhood attachment concerns, adoption, loss and grieving, women's empowerment, and stress and anxiety management.
The approach I take is one of collaboration, respect and compassion. The first meeting is structured to explore your unique needs and develop concrete achievable goals for therapy. I have experience working with individuals and families across the spectrum of ethnic and cultural backgrounds, sexual orientation, age, and religion.
