When beginning psychotherapy, individuals often feel vulnerable and in need of a safe space in which to examine their struggles and work towards healing. With over 30 years of experience, and as a Harvard-trained psychologist, I provide such a space. I work with empathy, intellect, and humor to help clients address such diverse concerns as life transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, and eating disorders. My approach is grounded in psychodynamic and relational theories, and I use CBT and mindfulness techniques where appropriate to help clients understand themselves, achieve their goals, and find satisfaction in their lives.
I enjoy conducting short- and longer-term therapy with adult clients of all ages, and with a background in university mental health, have a particular expertise in the issues facing young adults. I also specialize in the concerns of parents of children of all ages.
Over the years I have seen people change in meaningful and satisfying ways. I deeply believe in the power of the warm, collaborative psychotherapy I practice. In Washington Sq., Brookline, my office is convenient to the T, and street and metered parking are available. I offer online psychotherapy as well.
