As a clinical social worker/registered play therapist, I work with children ages 3-9 and their families. I primarily use Child Centered Play Therapy and I am also trained in Theraplay, SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) and Trauma-Focused CBT. Working with children and their families to help them function more harmoniously and peacefully takes collaboration, humor, humility, and an open mind. As needed, I consult with doctors, teachers, diagnosticians, and, of course, parents in creating a treatment plan and throughout the process that a client sees me.
Though I teach coping skills and offer referrals to other professionals in the community, I deeply respect that clients know what is best for themselves. My years as a school social worker have taught me to think on my feet, speak directly, act quickly if needed, and pivot when necessary. All are welcome.
