I have been working as a Therapist since 2008 and have experience working with a diverse group of clients, that have a wide range of treatment needs. My primary focus is with adolescents and young adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, mood disorders and other life transitions that occur during these years. I am familiar with the school system and often work closely with guidance counselors and administrators to coordinate services with schools. My strength is in building strong therapeutic relationships so that my clients can begin working towards their goals, while feeling supported and understood.
I primarily uses a Cognitive Behavioral approach to therapy, with the belief that if you change your thinking and behavior, then your emotions and life experiences will change. I also utilize EMDR and Brainspotting to help individuals who have experienced traumatic life events or just seem to get "stuck" in a negative thought pattern.
I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Rutgers College. My graduate studies were completed at the University of Maryland, School of Social Work where I obtained a Master's of Social Work degree, with a clinical focus and specialization in Children and Families.
