I provide telehealth (video) counseling in English and Portuguese to adults suffering with: depression, anxiety, panic, social phobia, obsessions and compulsions, and struggles with relationships, perfectionism and career. Please understand that the success of the therapy is highly correlated to your ability to engage in the process. While having a rapport will provide a safe environment for you to express your challenges, in most cases, this is not enough. It requires your active participation in understanding how the mind works, where emotions come from and your behavioral choices.
In therapy, you will be taught a series of cognitive behavioral techniques to address potential unhealthy thinking and behavioral patterns. The results are diminished negative emotions and enhanced wellbeing. In the process, emerging layers of self are revealed and you might be surprised to know potentials you never knew about yourself.
I delight myself witnessing the unfolding of client's beautiful parts of self, often hidden under fears, confusion or hopelessness. Minds go from endless loops in the past or consumed by the "what ifs", to becoming more grounded in the present.
