I hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Iowa and completed the Internship in Clinical Psychology at the University of Minnesota Medical School. I also completed training as a psychoanalyst at the Institute for Psychoanalysis, Chicago and at the Minnesota Psychoanalytic Institute. I work with individuals who present with a wide variety of clinical problems, both acute and chronic, and tailor the treatment to that which is indicated by the nature of the situation.
Based on an initial consultation, you and I work together to arrive at a decision about the type of treatment that is best suited to the clinical problem. The objective of the treatment is to relieve distress, to facilitate psychological growth, and to achieve peace of mind.
In addition to working with general psychiatric and psychological difficulties, I have a good deal of experience working with psychological or psychiatric aspects of medical problems.
