My focus is developing a relationship with my clients that becomes the foundation for transformation. My work is guided by the belief that much in life is related to the core need of knowing and being known. After addressing physical needs & causes, I often lean into the idea that our thoughts are part of what cause our feelings and behaviors. If we are able to change the way we think about the world, we will be able to change the way we feel and act. Most importantly, having someone who cares walk along side you can make all the difference in the world. Change isn't easy, but seeking help means you don't have to do it alone.

Life has a lot of challenges. I want to help you work through your struggles and find more hope. I offer a safe and supportive environment where together we can process your feelings and frustrations. I think in order to create real, lasting change that you not only have to challenge your thoughts and behaviors, but also address the underlying feelings and emotions that contribute to them. If you are tired of feeling stuck I will work with you to identify and change your unhealthy patterns so that you can move forward.

I do not focus on any one specific population to serve. I believe that everyone needs someone to talk to and process what they are experiencing in their lives. In general I realize that most people I serve are working on rebuilding, repairing, and relearning how to manage connections to others.

Therapy allows you to unpack yourself. As humans, we long for connection to others but so many of us struggle to achieve that deep, desired connection. Together we must heal the wounds from the past to create change in current relationships with kids, your partner, friends, co-workers, and family. My clients are unsatisfied and want to dive deeper into themselves. I offer a safe and trusting relationship so clients can be vulnerable and look inward. During our sessions, I will challenge you to get curious about yourself; by doing that, you will show up within your relationships more connected, authentic, and regulated.

Life often presents us with challenges that can easily become overwhelming or even daunting. In a world filled with relentless to-do lists and constant demands, finding time for ourselves often takes a back seat. Our society doesn’t always encourage the practice of self-care, leaving many of us feeling stretched thin. Investing time and energy in yourself is a powerful choice you can make to begin shifting this dynamic. You deserve the life you want and have the power to make meaningful changes toward that life.

You lay awake staring at the ceiling; wondering how you can feel so alone next to the person you love. When things are great - they're great! Lately, however, the good days are few and far between. Communication is at a standstill, widening the space that is growing between you. Silence is the theme that looms over the house. You're simply coexisting, longing for intimacy, but unable to navigate the chasm that separates you. You ask, “Is this what our future looks like?” Throwing yourself into hobbies, sneaking glances at one another behind your phone screen from across the room. You both need more than this, but where do you begin?

All of us strive to become our best selves and to reach our highest potential. But as humans we're also vulnerable to fear, anger and self-doubt due to past traumas, and life events that can get in the way and knock us off course. I have faced some of these challenges myself. Sometimes we need help from an outside professional who is open, knowledgeable and compassionate. Often just the opportunity to be heard and understood can itself be healing. And the tools and insights learned from therapy can be life-changing. It's not easy but with motivation and a desire to grow, along with the right therapist, real progress can occur.

Self Esteem Therapists
When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?
When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.
What are the signs of low self-esteem?
Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.
What causes low self-esteem?
Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.
How can therapy improve self-esteem?
Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
