I specialize in helping people who are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief and relationship problems. This may be due to early life trauma, current relationship conflicts or an inability to feel fulfilled in their careers. When we recognize and access our resilience, we are able to experience growth and create positive changes in our lives. This journey is not always easy, but much can be accomplished when the client feels supported and the process is collaborative. My clients and I know we are on the right track when they recognize improvement in their mood, interpersonal relationships or achieve their career goals.

When you are physically ill you turn to your doctor, hoping they can help you feel better. Problems like depression, anxiety, impulsivity, uncontrollable anger, guilt, or low self-confidence can be as painful, if not more so, than physical illness; they can also create serious relationship and work difficulties. I have over 25 years of experience and I have helped many adults, adolescents, and couples who had received limited or no benefit from previous therapists, other doctors, or medications. I work well with people who are skeptical of, or intimidated by, talk therapy.

My research interests include group relations, personality disorders, immigration, and my dissertation examined attachment, self-silencing, anger expression and relationship satisfaction.
Therapy, I believe, is a collaborative process through which I work with clients to progress toward well-being and an authentic engagement with life. As we address therapy goals that may involve reducing distress caused by symptoms, dealing with acute or longer term issues, or old patterns that are holding you back from growth, I listen for your voice, and seek to empower you to take ownership of your life and its direction. I strive to create a safe, accepting environment, where we work toward ameliorating distress, enhanced self-understanding, healthier choices, and living a more mindful, valued life.

I specialize in helping people with low self-esteem, relationship issues, trauma and PTSD, men’s issues, and improving communication/boundaries.
Let’s be honest. Underneath that perfect, polished veneer, the cracks are starting to show. You’ve tried handling them yourself, because that’s who you are – independent, resourceful, and always able to take care of yourself. But the spackle is breaking. Who are you if not that characterization of success, living up to the expectations set by your parents, friends, and middle school basketball coach? Maybe those cracks are the result of you running full speed against a wall, again and again. If you’re ready to find another way around the wall, I'm your person.

I also provide clear, no-nonsense solutions for couples who are struggling in their relationship.
Is it true that between a dysfunctional political landscape, a sea-change in social values, the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and the inflation that is eroding our finances, that life is "crazier" today than ever before? Now add the complexities of relationships, career issues or family problems and it's no wonder that level of mental distress appears to be on the rise with little end in sight. But, fortunately, an experienced and caring therapist can start you on the journey toward a healthier future. Check out my website at www.billbrosh.org. I offer a free-15 minute consultation to see if you feel we may be a good match.

I work primarily with individuals and couples struggling with relationship distress and believe that everyone has the power to change when given the opportunity to do so. While relationships can lead to stress and anxiety, they can also be the source of safety and security for us if we let them. Whether you're struggling in your relationship with your partner or yourself, we can work together to identify the parts of yourself that need attention and change negative patterns so you can feel closer to those around you and live a more meaningful life.

Do you feel stuck in the same old situation? Are you unsatisfied in (or out of) a relationship? Disappointments and obstacles happen in life, but you don't have to remain stuck. I work with individuals and couples to reconnect with their spontaneity and to discover a full range of creative choices towards a richer, more engaged life. Therapy must be a safe place to talk about difficulties, but to open up new possibilities, therapy must also be experiential.

My passion lies in helping clients struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, breakdowns in communication, relationship difficulties, intimacy, gender-related issues and sexuality.
I believe that in different stages of our lives we are presented with challenges that can be overwhelming and that can leave us feel powerless. It is also my firm belief that we all have unique strengths and resilience and that therapy can help us identify and make use of them. This then allows us to regain control of our lives and strengthen healthy relationships. Being listened to and understood by a caring professional in a confidential and safe space can bring tremendous relief from emotional conflicts and pain. Such therapeutic space can help develop a stronger self and promote constructive ways to live a more fulfilling life.

The stress of trying to manage it all when it feels like you're drowning is exhausting! I specialize in working with women feeling overwhelmed by relationship issues, parenting challenges, a devastating loss, or traumatic event. My clients often struggle with feeling depleted; they're tired, their thoughts keep racing, the anxiety's overwhelming, and they can feel very stuck and all alone with their pain. It's a lot! And when life stressors occur it's ok to not feel ok, it's human. Some who are used to doing things on their own may question why healing would be any different and so continue to suffer. You don't need to go it alone.

When we're suffering in one part of life, we often feel it in many aspects of day-to-day existence. The knock on effect of struggling with things like anxiety or relationship issues can mean that we then find it harder to work, to sleep, to take care of ourselves well or have the energy to invest in things that we love. It can impact how we see ourselves and how we relate to the people around us. In the same way, addressing these challenges can shift life from feeling generally painful and challenging to one that feels largely fulfilling, loving and energizing.

I primarily work in areas of anxiety and mood disorders, and relationship issues.
I enjoy helping my patients figure out what is not working for them in their lives --whether the issues are professional or personal. I have been working in private practice for over fifteen years, with patients covering a wide range of issues. All they had in common was a desire to create change, and willingness to talk about their lives, thoughts and feelings honestly. Please contact me via email for expedience.

I feel that therapy is most effective when the patient and therapist work both in the present and the past. Often the patient seeks therapy in order to relieve a symptom (i.e. depression, anxiety) or to resolve a relationship issue and they want relief quickly. I understand this need to feel better as quickly as possible but also feel that it is important to address early interpersonal issues that are having an impact on current relationships. In working along these parallel paths patients often feel relief of symptoms and gain a better understanding of lifelong dysfunctional patterns.

I give great importance to the therapeutic relationship and see therapy as a joint process that is a big factor in alleviating client's distress and increasing overall well-being.
Therapy is an opportunity for healing and growth. Together we understand how my client's past impacts them in current day relationships and situations. We develop insight into your relationship patterns that may hold you back from what you want; meaningful and secure relationships in your life and how to be more productive at work .Symptoms will diminish and confidence will increase as you feel more empowered and in control in understanding your life, which helps you make the changes that held you back.I work with children, teens, adults, couples & families.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
