I believe many of the current life issues people struggle with are the result of dysfunctional coping skills developed as a result of previous experience. These can negatively effect you and your ability to live the life you want to live. Change is not easy, but it is worth it when you see the difference it can create in your life. The ideal client for my practice is one who is motivated for change and is willing to walk through the difficult steps to get there.
I have experience working with difficult and complex trauma and PTSD, dissociative disorders, and personality and mood disorders. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
I have discovered that people can, and do, learn new skills and ways of coping that lessen their personal burden and enhance and improve their lives. I believe that when one is able to face the "darkness", they can remove its hold over their lives and look at life in a new and brighter light.
