My emphasis is mainly on helping you to reduce your clinical symptoms. However I also place a major emphasis on helping you build up your overall courage and self-worth, as well as on you gaining appreciation for your personal strengths and resiliency. My ideal client is anyone who is motivated to work hard, to remain open to being challenged while being comforted and supported too, and to face personal truths which can be difficult for you to face. My therapeutic style blends compassion and support with a big "dose" of directive challenging on a sensitively-timed basis. I look forward to working with you if you reach out!
I am a trauma-informed psychologist/therapist, well-versed in CBT, IFS, psychodynamic, mindfulness, and Gottman-based treatment modalities. My clinical specialty areas include PTSD, anxiety disorders, depression (especially grief-based), OCD, eating disorders, stress management, anger management, and problems/challenges in any type of relationship.
Regardless of your presenting clinical picture, I do an extensive amount of what I call "inner bully/critic" work.
