Theresa is a Certified Trauma Specialist who will help you heal from your painful past and the current struggles you have been experiencing. She will guide you in discovering insight into limiting belief systems so that you may live a healthier and more positive lifestyle. Her goal is to assist you in regaining a sense of safety in the present and hopefulness toward your future. After receiving a Master’s degree in Psychology, she received her trauma certification in Prolonged Exposure Therapy from the Univ. of Pennsylvania.
Theresa is trained in EMDR-Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy. She specializes in trauma that spans from childhood through adulthood. She has extensive experience working with survivors of childhood abuse and neglect, sexual assault, and those who struggle with PTSD as result of combat; military, police, and firefighters.
She is well versed in the process and cycle of Addiction, including the impact of addiction upon the family system. Her approach to the therapeutic process is Person-Centered and Trauma Informed. She is certified in the Sanctuary Model and modalities include Prolonged Exposure Therapy, EMDR, CBT, TF-CBT and DBT.
