Hello, my friend. I am Jonathan. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 8 years of clinical experience. I have worked with Individuals, Couples, Families, and Minors with symptoms related to Addiction, Anger Management, Depression, Grief, Life Transitions, ADHD, Trauma, PTSD, Anxiety, LGBTQIA+, Men's Issues, Substance Use, Relationship Issues, and Stress. My client-centered approach uses a mix of Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Person-Centered, Mindfulness-Based (MBCT), and Existential. I firmly believe that Life is a journey so let us make the most of it.

I am passionate about helping clients gain control over their lives and develop a toolbox of resources and mindsets they need to succeed in the world. My goal is to make my clients feel empowered, capable, and strong. All of this is within you already; it just takes some fine tuning and practice to feel comfortable within one's own skin. The pages in my book of life have equipped me with the experience to connect with ALL people. In my book, I’ve encountered many conflicts. I’ve been the antagonist and the protagonist and I’m just in the rising action. Because my pages are not all filled with butterflies and sunshine, I’ve had to work to find ways to help equip myself with daily coping skills. It is generally short-term and focused on helping you deal with a very specific problem; Virtual only (M,W,Thur 10 or 11 am), M-F (appointments after 5 pm CST), Saturdays (9-2p) "virtual appointments ONLY". I am experienced in treating a wide range of disorders including: phobias, addictions, depression, and anxiety, couples issues, divorce issues and trauma.

I provide inspirational mental health and substance use disorder counseling that produces lifestyle changing experiences that positively impact the way clients think, feel, believe, and behave. I also provide US DOT Substance Abuse Professionals (SAP) services-the Return to duty services. I assist clients to comply with the US DOT rules and return to duty process as soon as possible.

I am committed to helping people. I have a passion for supervision. I believe that supervision helped me to become a confident clinician and I feel empowered to help others find their clinical voice as well. I also have a passion for people dealing with chronic illness. People who deal with health issues on a daily basis need someone to talk to as they navigate the struggles of getting well. As a parent of four children I understand that parenting can be difficult and at times frustrating. I want to help parents find the joys in raising children and help them feel successful as caregivers. I am kind, compassionate, and honest.

Let me take a moment to describe the kind of person with whom I enjoy working. I'll call her Jamie. She was successful in many ways, but she had noticed a pattern in her relationships with men. When she looked back, she saw they didn't treat her with respect. Some of them were verbally abusive. Some of them were even physically abusive. They were completely erratic in their jobs.
