My work focuses on supporting adults with anxiety/depression, ADHD/executive functioning support, stress management, navigating difficult changes/transitions, and building healthy relationships with yourself and with others. I emphasize a collaborative approach in my practice: you are the expert of your own experience. I tend to bring a human approach to my work and frequently use humor in my sessions (I'm absolutely the therapist who will laugh at your jokes- and then unpack them). I also fully endorse the concept that the therapeutic relationship itself has a great capacity for healing.

I specialize in folks with ADHD, and am trained as a ADHD-CCSP for teens and adults, who are trying to navigate through the world within the lens of their neurodiversity.
I believe that every person has the right to be treated with individual care. Because we are all unique, what works for one person may not work for the next. I like to approach helping you with a fresh lens every time, getting to know you, and finding which therapeutic approach to best help your situation. Building a relationship of trust and openness is the most important part to therapy, as well as creating an atmosphere where you feel safe and secure in your journey. Maybe you’ve done this before, and maybe this is your first time in therapy; I want to find what works best for you.

Some treatments I specialize in are: diagnosing and management of ADHD, exposure-response prevention (ERP) for OCD, CBT for anxiety and depression, and FBT for anorexia.
Limited after school times available! My passion is working with adolescents, families and adults who are looking to learn new skills to use in their lives. We'd be a good fit if you're looking for someone who teaches skills and strategies to use when encountering difficulties. Often people will encounter times where they struggle and don't have the skills to manage current stressors or problem. I’m here to offer you support and techniques that have shown to be effective in helping with these problems. Working with me involves learning more about what makes situations difficult (what's the specific problem) and applying new skills.

Our clients are high achieving millennials, identity-developing gen-zers, people in transition, and people who think deeply about themselves and their growth. Our clients are asking: Why do my emotions feel so out of hand? How do I understand my relational patterns? How is my experience of trauma showing up in my every day life? Do I have ADHD? Do I have bipolar? Am I on the right medication? Should I take a break from work? How do I manage difficult relationships?

Many of us feel out of step with others around us. Difficulties with completing tasks and organization lead to struggles and frustration in relationships. Difficulty with social skills and anxiety make it hard to reach out to others for friendship or dating. Some of us feel shame and isolation from ADHD, autism, and other forms of neurodiversity. Our unique hobbies or interests keep us out of step. Shame keeps us from exploring who we are in friendships, dating, and sexually. People often do not see us. We feel alone. This manifests as depression, anxiety, and difficulty regulating our emotions.

As ADHDers, we often mask our authentic selves in a world created for neurotypicals.
Hi, I'm Jessica! I help folx with ADHD in adulthood better understand themselves, find a sense of peace, and thrive. I know living with ADHD can be challenging, do any of these sound familiar? You’re a people-pleaser and struggle to advocate for yourself. You seem to have it “all together” from the outside but internally are struggling with anxiety, loneliness, self-doubt, or burnout. You struggle with procrastination, keeping track of all the tasks on your plate, leading to overwhelm. You feel like no one quite fully understands you. It feels like it’s so much easier for everyone else to accomplish goals.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
