Despite being a highly successful woman, you’ve been weighed down by the belief that you're not enough or that there's something inherently wrong with you. There’s a sense of unworthiness and belief that you are unlovable, festering inside you, making it difficult to enjoy your accomplishments or feel truly confident. The effects of past emotional neglect or narcissistic abuse seem to be catching up with you, leaving you feeling vulnerable and questioning your own worth. You’ve been second-guessing your own reality and placing others’ needs above your own, leading to a pattern of people-pleasing and difficulty setting boundaries.

If you have been hurt by a narcissistic relationship, I can help! When you have a relationship with a narcissist, the repetitive self centeredness takes its toll. You end up questioning if you are good enough, creating distrust and ultimatley wondering if its even possible for you to have an intimate and healthy relationship. As a therapist who specializes in narcississtic relationships, I've worked to understand brain development, trauma, and healing. My clients share that they are able to establish connection, set boundaries, and finally create relationships that are both fulfilling and supportive.

I am licensed in Washington State and I work with adult children, partners and siblings of individuals with Narcissistic and Borderline Personality Disorder traits. It can be difficult to find a therapist who truly understands the impact and wounds of being raised in a home or being in a relationship with someone who has narcissistic traits or borderline traits. My work includes creating a healthy psychological separation, changing the negative internal messages, learning how to respond to others, creating healthy boundaries, stopping the legacy of distorted love and becoming your true and authentic self.

I specialize in working with women's issues including codependency, recovery from narcissistic abuse, self-esteem, transition to parenthood, and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders.
Are you currently in a relationship where you're not happy but can't seem to get yourself to leave? Maybe you feel emotionally stuck or confused and have tried leaving only to return to the same unhappy relationship where nothing seems to change. On the other hand, you might feel that you keep entering into relationships in which you are treated poorly but can't figure out why. Perhaps you're dating and finding "the one" seems impossible. You feel sad and disappointed, no one seems to understand, and you don't know what else to do to make things better. I'm here to tell you that things can change and I am here to help!

My primary clinical interest is in narcissism as an aspect of personality and narcissistic family systems.
I help adults (18+) find deeper satisfaction in their lives and relationships through awareness-based and attachment-based interventions. All of us need support as we move through our lives because living inevitably brings suffering as part of the process. If you're experiencing distress and dissatisfaction, I want you to know you're doing nothing wrong. Let's explore how you can experiment with shifting your fixed habits so you can have new experiences that restore your hope, vitality, and ease. I bring an anti-oppressive lens to my work that considers social identities and systems of power as integral to your psychic life.

I am particularly passionate about working with survivors of narcissistic abuse.
I believe we are all created for connection in relationship, and that all relationships have the potential to bring great joy and great struggle. Through our therapeutic relationship, by addressing the concerns that bring you to therapy, a process occurs that produces healing, transformation, and growth. My approach to counseling varies, but is rooted in trauma-informed, relational psychotherapy, focusing on key attachment relationships, and exploring the moments, social and cultural constructs, and ideologies that have shaped you.

I have experience working with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, low self-esteem, grief, relationship issues, and narcissistic abuse.
Life can seem overwhelming at times which can make it difficult to believe that happiness is possible or that goals are unattainable. It can be difficult to understand why there seems to be a constant feeling of sadness and hopelessness and not knowing where it is coming from or what is triggering the feelings. It is okay not to be okay but it is not okay to remain stuck there. We are all unique and valuable and deserve respect and kindness. I also believe that it is important for our feelings to be heard and validated.

I'm passionate about helping my clients break toxic patterns and set healthier boundaries. I specialize in working with the adult children of parents with borderline and narcissistic personality disorders in my practice. Additionally, I love to work with clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and OCD. My style is supportive, honest, and direct with a bit of humor sprinkled in. I love being a therapist, but I'm definitely not the perfect therapist for everyone. I'm straightforward, bubbly, and have been known to use profanity on occasion to emphasize a point!

You're here because you can't do it alone anymore. You need help to shake the stuck feeling and wonder if depression, anxiety, co-dependency [or insert struggle of choice] are winning this battle. You try to quit old habits and form healthier habits, but to no avail. You want to be in relationships that build you up but, more often than not, you feel doubt. Your self-esteem is in question. You don't feel like yourself anymore... whoever that may be. It's time to find help that will really move you out of this stuck place.

Seeking therapy can be a daunting process, while also being one step toward greater wholeness/healing. Relationship is where we are both wounded and healed. I work with individuals seeking relief from distressing symptoms such as; demanding too much of yourself, finding it hard to trust self, trust your own experience, self-soothing through addictive behaviors, pleasing others at your own expense, anxiety, depression, CPTSD. Our patterns of relating develop early within our first attachments, so our journey might include visiting some of those relationships to wonder how they impact you in the here and now.

I have always been interested in how people develop over their lifetime. At each stage of life there are challenges that many of us face, and for some those challenges become too great to handle on their own. At these points, therapy can be a valuable tool to help get back on track. I enjoy talking with people from all walks of life and getting to experience their stories as we work together. From processing trauma, working through interpersonal and marital issues, developing parenting skills, I cherish the journey of therapy with clients so that they can grow and develop.

Narcissistic Personality (NPD) Therapists

What type of therapy is best for narcissistic personality disorder?

Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is best treated with talk therapy, which could involve cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, schema therapy, gestalt therapy, or similar approaches. A therapist will help a patient uncover the feelings that may drive their behavior and discover how to engage with themselves and those around them with greater empathy and understanding, fewer demands, and less defensiveness, with the goal of developing a more authentic sense of self that enables healthier relationships.

How do therapists treat NPD?

By developing a strong therapeutic relationship, and continually focusing patients on relationships, community, and connection, a therapist, through talk therapy, may be able to help someone with NPD change. In sessions, a therapist will help an individual achieve relief from their current stressors, including the treatment of co-occurring conditions such as anxiety or depression. A therapist may also help an individual to recognize unhealthy coping mechanisms, learn new ways of interacting with others, and eventually become able to feel and display empathy.

Can a narcissist be cured with therapy?

Therapy can be effective. After a serious setback or great loss, someone with NPD may be forced to recognize that they are not immune to life’s challenges. That can spur feelings of melancholy and depression that lead them to seek professional help. Once an individual decides to seek help, they have already taken a step that the majority of those with NPD never will. Still, people with NPD often quit therapy as they naturally resist feeling vulnerable, being challenged, or admitting to flaws.

How can you get narcissistic personality disorder treatment for someone?

It is notoriously difficult to convince someone with NPD to seek help. With their feelings of superiority, they may be unlikely to recognize or acknowledge that they have a problem, or that their problem is narcissism. Sometimes, they are aware that they are arrogant and that others resent them but they don’t see it as a problem because they are convinced of their superiority. People with NPD have trouble maintaining relationships, but family members and others who do feel close to them, and whose presence they value, may be able to encourage them to seek therapy.
