Here’s What’s Happening Now

“That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.” #Purdue alumnus Neil Armstrong became the first person to set foot on the moon on July 20, 1969, as millions witnessed the iconic moment on their television sets at home. Armstrong, along with lunar module pilot Buzz Aldrin, spent several hours exploring the lunar surface, collecting materials and photographing the terrain. The Apollo 11 mission was a monumental accomplishment for humanity and a proud part of our history as the “Cradle of Astronauts” – 27 #Boilermakers have been to space. “The time that I spent at Purdue learning engineering was absolutely critical to everything I’ve done throughout my entire career,” Armstrong said. Take a look at Armstrong’s amazing legacy and lasting impact on the university, from his time earning a @PurdueAeroAstro bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering to his returns to campus for many public appearances.
