2 weeks agoJoe Gibbs Racing driver Martin Truex Jr. will start 25th in this week's FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway. This marks the lowest starting position of his Cup career at the site since 2014. In 33 races at Michigan, Truex has 16 top-10 finishes, including all of the last seven Cup events at the site. The No. 19 Toyota driver also led 322 laps in his Cup career at the site, which is the second-most of all drivers in the field. After 23 races completed this year, Truex has nine top-10 finishes and an average finish of 15.6. In practice, Truex ranked first of all drivers in all categories except single-lap times. With his high Place Differential upside and top-notch equipment, Truex is one of the best DFS plays of the week for all formats.--Sean Engel - RotoBallerSource: racing-reference.info

2 weeks agoBrad Keselowski of RFK Racing will start 15th in this week's FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway after qualifying was canceled by rain. This is the second time Keselowski will start in the Top 15 since joining RFK in 2022. In 26 races at Michigan, Keselowski has 14 top-10 finishes and 273 laps led, which is the third-most of all drivers in the field. With 23 races completed this season, Keselowski has one win and 10 top-10 finishes while having an average finish of 14.8. In practice, Keselowski ranked seventh in five consecutive lap averages and fourth in overall lap averages. Michigan is a home race venue for the No. 6 driver, and he has great practice speeds, solid equipment, and a fair amount of upside. Keselowski is an easy recommendation as one of the best DFS options to consider for all formats this week.--Sean Engel - RotoBallerSource: racing-reference.info

2 weeks agoStewart-Haas Racing driver Noah Gragson will start 25th after qualifying was canceled due to weather in this week's FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway. This is the lowest start position of his Cup career at Michigan to date. Although he wrecked in his only Cup appearance at Michigan in 2022, Gragson has four finishes of sixth or better in four Xfinity starts at the site, including earlier this weekend with Rette Jones Racing. In 23 races so far in 2024, Gragson has 15 top-20 finishes, including four of the last five Cup events. In practice, Gragson ranked 23rd in overall lap averages, 19th in five consecutive lap averages, and eighth in 10 consecutive lap averages. Based on his practice speeds, Xfinity history, and equipment, expect Gragson to move up and compete for a top-15 finish.--Sean Engel - RotoBallerSource: racing-reference.info

2 weeks agoTy Gibbs will start Sunday's FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway from the 19th position, the lowest starting position ever for him at the site after qualifying was canceled due to rain. In two previous Michigan races in the Cup Series, Gibbs led laps in both events and placed 11th or better twice. In the Xfinity Series at MIS, Gibbs has two top-five finishes, including one win in three starts. With 23 races completed so far this year, Gibbs has nine top-10 finishes and an average finish of 15.4. In practice, Gibbs ranked 17th in overall lap averages out of all drivers. Despite the middling practice speeds and recent underwhelming finishes, Michigan has been a great track for Gibbs since the Xfinity Series. Expect the driver of the No. 54 Toyota to rebound and prove to be a fantasy asset in all DFS formats this week.--Sean Engel - RotoBallerSource: racing-reference.info

2 weeks agoIn Michigan International Speedway's race for this week in the Cup Series, the FireKeepers Casino 400, Chase Elliott will start sixth after qualifying was canceled due to weather. This will be the third consecutive race this year where Elliott will start inside the Top 10. In 13 starts at Michigan, Elliott has 10 top-10 finishes and led in five different Cup events at the site. Through 23 races this season, Elliott has one win, 12 top-10 finishes, ranks third in points, and has the best average finish of all drivers (10.4). In practice, Elliott ranked 15th in overall lap averages and fourth in five consecutive lap averages. As one of the most consistent drivers of the year, displaying top-10 speeds in practice, Elliott is a driver worth rostering in any format despite not having as much upside as others.--Sean Engel - RotoBallerSource: racing-reference.info

2 weeks agoDon't overlook Kyle Busch when building your DraftKings lineups for this weekend's FireKeepers Casino 400, even though the No. 8 Chevrolet wasn't very fast in practice on Saturday. Kyle Busch has struggled to find speed at most tracks this year, but intermediates has been where this No. 8 team has shined. In 2024, Rowdy ranks 13th-best in Total Speed Ranking on this track type and has an average finish of 10.7 when you take out Las Vegas, where he had pit road problems but had a super fast race car. At Michigan, Busch has finished inside the top 10 in nine of the last 11 races. If you're looking to roll the dice, Rowdy makes for an excellent pivot option off of some of the other drivers in the mid-$8,000 price range--although it's not recommended to go too high with your exposure to Busch on Sunday.--Jordan McAbeeSource: ifantasyrace

2 weeks agoKyle Larson is a three-time winner at Michigan International Speedway and will likely contend for the FireKeepers Casino 400 victory this weekend as well. The No. 5 Chevrolet has been super fast at almost all intermediate tracks this season, and Larson recently went to victory lane at Indianapolis, which is another high-horsepower track. This weekend, Yung Money will roll off the starting grid from fourth when the green flag waves, and should be at or near the front for most of the race. In practice on Saturday, Larson ranked second-fastest in 10-lap average behind Martin Truex Jr, which is a bad sign for the competition. On DraftKings, Larson is the highest-priced driver on the slate, but considering his dominator and race-winning potential, you should have plenty of exposure with your DFS lineups on Sunday.--Jordan McAbeeSource: ifantasyrace

2 weeks agoYou should have plenty of Chris Buescher exposure when building your DFS lineups for Michigan this weekend. The Roush-Fenway Keselowski Racing driver is moderately priced at $8,600 on DraftKings this weekend, and his 18th-place starting spot gives him plenty of Place Differential upside for Sunday's FireKeepers Casino 400. Let's not forget that Buescher is also the defending winner of this race, as the No. 17 Ford went to victory lane in the Irish Hills last season after leading 52 of the 200 laps. In practice here on Saturday, Buescher ranked ninth-fastest on the single-lap speed chart and was sixth-fastest when it came to 10-lap average. Looking back to the Kansas race earlier this season (which is a track somewhat comparable to Michigan) Buescher had one of the best cars and finished runner-up to Kyle Larson in that photo finish. He's racing for the playoffs right now and needs a good run this weekend. Look for Buescher to be a top-10 contender on Sunday.--Jordan McAbeeSource: Win The Race
