Dolores Barclay Associated Press Sister Act is outrageous fun and delicious deviltry. The laughs keep coming but, best of all, there's much humanity at work. It's a movie that just, pardon me, makes you feel darn good. Feb 19, 2020 Full Review Jeff Menell Hollywood Reporter It's all pretty predictable, and if there was time you might get pissed off at the ridiculousness of it all. But things move at such a quickened pace, and the comedic timing of all involved is impressive enough to override the structural flaws. Jun 1, 2019 Full Review Owen Gleiberman Entertainment Weekly Rated: B- Sep 7, 2011 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com …the kind of unassuming, crowd-pleasing, light-weight but satisfying film that cinema has completely lost the formula for by 2023… Rated: 3/5 Feb 21, 2023 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins Whoopi is aware of the goofy premise, refusing to take her situation with any seriousness, even though the rest of the cast attempts a level of sincerity. Rated: 7/10 Sep 24, 2020 Full Review Vanessa Letts The Spectator The film trundles along, full of holy-poky, mayhem and one-liners. Jul 25, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Dale R In this Touchstone release, Whoopi Goldberg stars as a Reno lounge singer that witnesses a murder and is put into protective custody inside a San Francisco convent. Whoopi kills it as “Sister Mary Clarence'' and really brands this movie with her style of comedy. The movie does start a bit slow, but picks up once Mary Clarence joins the choir. This is one of the first soundtracks I bought after this movie came out and I feel that the music is the biggest highlight of the film. I love Sister Mary Patrick, played by Kathy Najimy, and I had a huge crush on Sister Mary Robert played by Wendy Makkena. Then I found out her singing voice wasn’t her but Andrea Robinson and my crush was crushed. Her voice still gives me chills during the movie though! One of my favorites, highly recommended! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/07/24 Full Review First name L Sweet, if predictable, heart-warming diversion. Some moments ring surprisingly profound. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/14/24 Full Review annette Z everything this chick dose is good -- I mean Whoopie Goldberg ! I have yet to find a bad Goldberg movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/11/24 Full Review Audience Member Whoopi was denied an Oscar nom for this role. Can you see anyone else playing her.?? I can’t. It’s such a feel good movie and she is amazing in it! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/23/24 Full Review Rami A There's really not much to this, it's just a simple movie about nuns. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/21/24 Full Review Michael W This classic comedy was great. Whoopi Goldberg, Maggie Smith, Wendy Makkena, Harvey Keitel, Kathy Najimy, Bill Nunn, and the rest of the cast did a great job in this movie. The plot of the movie was entertaining, humorous, and dramatic. It's about staying alive and discovering what you're really good at. If you haven't seen this movie yet, check it out sometime. It's a must see. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/24 Full Review Read all reviews
