Phillip Maciak The New Republic This story began as a footnote, and House of the Dragon has yet to prove itself as more than an annotation. Jun 27, 2024 Full Review Camilla Long Times (UK) I’m mostly watching it for Olivia Cooke as the poisonous Alicent, a proto-Cersei Lannister. Jun 24, 2024 Full Review Hugo Rifkind Times (UK) In the first series one bunch of these Milky Bar Kid dragonlords bickered with another bunch over who got to sit on the Iron Throne. Nothing much has changed. Jun 21, 2024 Full Review Lissete Lanuza Sáenz Fangirlish If House of the Dragon were a character, it would be Daemon Targaryen, and as much as some people love Daemon, as much as we love him, no one ever truly says those words as a straight-up compliment. Jul 1, 2024 Full Review Valentina Morillo El Español (Spain) I've watched 4 episodes and I can say that not only surpassed the first season, but has the potential to overshadow the original series. Watching each episode is an event these weeks, and in the Targaryen Civil War, the viewers are the winners. Jul 1, 2024 Full Review Ryan Oquiza Rappler If the first season focused on how Rhaenyra and Alicent became at odds due to being used as pawns by patriarchal power, then the second season explores how their goodwill and benevolence are shattered beyond repair by that same power. Nick N Its ok. I think one of the biggest problems with this season is that the writers put emphasis on parts of the story that have little impact in the overall timeline. There is not enough time to let interpersonal relationships develop on screen. People complain about the lack of action but game of thrones had similar pacing so I disagree. Another problem is that the writers made it harder to like any of the main characters by completely changing their behavior relative to their book personas. Call it creative liberty but there was absolutely no need to make Alicent and aemond as unlikable as they are in the show. It's just difficult to get behind any of the characters and it negatively impacts the show. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/20/24 Full Review Pat G Sundays cant come quick enough Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/20/24 Full Review Dana K Emma D'arcy and Harry Collett are so good together Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/19/24 Full Review Cody M I feel like there is a wtf moment every episode Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/19/24 Full Review Ali P I for the most part really like the choices they are making. Some I don't but I understand there are constraints when it comes to adapting a book like F&B. It is BRILLIANTLY acted. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/19/24 Full Review Vicky N Very good season so far with the chance to be great depending on the last 3 episodes. 5 was the weakest, but sets up a lot of things that if done well, should be incredible. Excited for the reminder of the season Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/19/24 Full Review Read all reviews
