Zack Handlen AV Club There’s potential here, albeit of a moderate sort -- the character banter, with an ensemble featuring not just one but four different versions of comic relief, is passable, and John Noble could (and maybe is) do this kind of role in his sleep. Rated: B Mar 17, 2022 Full Review Brian Lowry CNN.com The show mostly just transparently trades off the "Trek" title without feeling like it's going anywhere, boldly or otherwise. Oct 28, 2021 Full Review Joshua M. Patton CBR The series, like most Star Trek stories, strives for a higher ideal. Yet whereas the live-action series comment on modern-day society, Prodigy is the first show focused on how people become the kind of heroes that populate Starfleet. Oct 31, 2023 Full Review Aaron Phillips But Why Tho? A Geek Community Star Trek Prodigy Season 1B is bigger, and better, and back for more. Rated: 8/10 Jan 14, 2023 Full Review Maggie Lovitt Millennial Falcon Reviews Prodigy doesn’t waste any time explaining anything—it trusts the audience to work things out on their own and learn on the go, as the cast of characters learns alongside them. Rated: A Sep 2, 2022 Full Review Andrew Bloom The Spool It strikes a tone that will be unfamiliar to longtime fans. But it’s also good enough in its own right and worthy of the same leeway to accomplish what DS9 did so many years ago -- mark its own place within the Star Trek universe. Richard J Imagine a Star Trek show without the Federation or Starfleet, or any characters from the Federation or Starfleet, other than a hologram of a character from another, much better series. How utterly pointless. Why even bother slapping the Star Trek label on this when it could have been an original IP? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/18/24 Full Review Leonardo L It's childish. But Finally Star Trek as it should be. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/11/24 Full Review Suzanne N I was dubious about a children's show. But it, to my surprise, became the best Star Trek show. Starts out a bit untrekkie, but quickly becomes Star Trek and then Very Good Star Trek. I adore Rok Tahk and look forword to seeing where she goes in her science career. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/28/24 Full Review Dominic B Ok so it took a little time to get into this, at first it was a little immature but it is designed for children, once you get into the rhythm the show stands really well on its own, making valued contributions to canon. Anyone who dislikes it is probably wanting it to be a TOS or TNG reboot, it's not it's new and it's different and while it may not be for everyone I am now addicted to it and can't wait for season 2. You can't please all of the people all of the time but most of the people some of the time is good enough to merit a few more sessions of this great show. Love having Janeway back and Chakotay too, anything that opens Star Trek to New audiences has to be good, Roddenbury would be proud. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/27/24 Full Review Jeff M I cannot recommend this enough! Excellent! Carries on the spirit of star trek with an animated clone wars type presentation. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/17/24 Full Review Movie E As a trek fan, this is actually done pretty well, even if it is a Nickalodeon production.
