SAMsARA produces limited releases of Pinot Noir, Syrah, Grenache and Chardonnay from carefully selected micro-sites within Sta. Rita Hill’s most distinctive vineyards. Our wines showcase the distinctive natural elements at play on each vineyard, harnessed through a low intervention winemaking style.
Using sustainably farmed, ultra-premium fruit from cool-climate vineyards makes the best wine, but don’t just take our word for it.

How We Got Here
2002
Founding
Our founding year. Named after the Sanskrit for the “endless series of births, deaths, and rebirths”. To us, SAMsARA signifies the rhythm of nature and the seasons changing reliably each year and repeating the cycle for the next vintage.
2004
Recognition
SAMsARA earns a reputation as a top Santa Barbara producer of Pinot Noir and Syrah.
2017
Joan and Dave
Joan and Dave Szkutak purchase SAMsARA from Chad and Mary Melville after being long-time fans of SAMsARA.
2017
Matt Brady
Matt Brady joins SAMsARA as winemaker after leaving Jaffurs Cellars and introduces SAMsARA's first white wine, Chardonnay.
2018
Expansion
SAMsARA adds several iconic vineyards to our portfolio including Bentrock, Radian, La Encantada and Francesca Vineyards
