Mission Brewing has opened up a new satellite tasting room in Carmel Valley. Atop the Del Mar Highlands Town Center’s Sky Deck in the lofty Brewer’s Deck, Mission took over the former Rough Draft space.
With a tasting bar featuring 18 taps, Mission Brewing will serve up brews such as the Mission Blonde ale, Pipe Dreams West Coast IPA and the Atlas Obscura hazy double IPA. In addition to beer, Mission offers hard seltzers like the Strawberry Mojito and the Kensington Mule, a ginger lime extra hard seltzer served in a copper mug over ice.
The Mission Brewing brand has a long history in San Diego, originally established back in 1913 and revived in 2007, it just celebrated its 17th anniversary. Last month Mission Brewing took over all of Rough Draft’s facilities, including a production facility in Miramar and another tasting room location on the UC San Diego campus.
The new Sky Deck location has plenty of spots to perch and guests can order up something to eat from food vendors in the Sky Deck below—anything from tacos from Urbana Mexican Gastronomy to sushi rolls from Glass Box. Mission Brewing cans are available to-go and the brewery plans to host events such as Trivia Nights.
Mission Brewing, along with Brewer’s Deck tasting bars Northern Pine and Boochcraft, is open Monday to Thursday and Saturday from noon to 9:30 p.m. On Friday it opens at noon and stays open until 10:30 p.m. Address: 12841 El Camino Real. Visit delmarhighlandstowncenter.com/listing/mission-brewing
